The can should say in the directions an approximate proper distance from the miniature for a good coverage. Usually around 8 inches (~20cm) is the standard. Sweep left to right, starting to spray before the model, and stopping only after you've completely passed. Give multiple coats if you need to, not just 1 thick layer (will diminish detail). When doing multiple layers, wait for the previous layer to dry some before proceeding.
