I ended up with 2 half sized armies. Can't do much about the ladies until models come available, sooooooo
Time to work on the guys. Not sure what group/name I'll choose; probably the 578th (after my 1st submarine, USS Skate, SSN 578). Gotta come up with a cool planet name though.
I'm thinking of doing a take on the British Berlin Brigade urban camo scheme:
So, on to the
WIPS:
Hydra Auto cannons. Lascannons chopped short and autocannon barrels added to the end. shell cartrige glues to the side. the glued to each other with an offset. 2 slightly different guns...I made 2 of each kind so each Hydra gets a matched set.
A Hydra turret. The metal plate will hold the guns that will be magnetized for easy removal. Space Marine search radar and a searchlight being converted to a tracking radar.
The Chassis assembly. Again, a metal plate for a magnet on the bottom of the turret.
The entire assembly. I have a buddy with a
FW Hydra, so this week I plan to do a size comparison to make sure I dont have any serious "Modeling for advantage" issues.
This is an unfinished Ork Battlewagon that I'm repurposing back to the
IG. I intend to make a Colossus on this chassis. I figure the dual tracks would match the huge gun.
A standard Chimera. I had a few from my
SoB Army so I only need 1 more to have a minimal number required (5).
The Command Chimera for the
CCS. A slight modification of the step-back conversion. I'm not real happy with the size of the rivets on the new front hatch...too big I think.
A standard Manticore. These things are great on paper. Cant wait to try them on the table.
On to the troops. My paint-fu has increased since I painted these guys, so a redo is in order. Same color camo scheme, just done better.
A commisar.
A commander. In my
SoB Army these were Platoon Commanders.
A flamer guy.
Psyker. He used to be a Mystic for an =][= Inqisitor squad. Makes an OK Psyker now. A mix of
WHFB battle mage bits on a
WH40K IG body.
Melta Gunners
WIP (of course). The gun is a Lasgun with the stock shaved off, the ammo magazine and gun barrels removed, and a bit of plastic tube glued on the end to become the melta bit.
