The blade was done with a brush using Liquitex Slo-Dri and a Wet-palette. (1:1:1 paint, slo-dri, water, mixed on the wet-palette gives enough time to blend paints on the model).

The hood/head is from the Dark Angels upgrade sprue. I only used the "knight" helmets though.

Yea that's the best part IMO, fits in really well, like it was made for it, both visually and fluffwise, excellent, a nice in character distinction for a model in an army that is becoming increasingly common, good job.
EDIT:
Also I think the freehand? blade on the good is great!

It looks good. Only thing I could suggest is giving him a loincloth robe part. Just a good with no other robed parts seems disjuncted

Yeah, I've been really trying to make them a bit more unique than stock Grey Knights. Although I'm usually one to jump for "DIY Chapters," I really didn't feel like I could get away with it playing Grey Knights (I'm a bit of a fluff purist), so I wanted to find bits that would fit thematically and also stand out (and where possible, save me some $$).
