This list is based on models I have from last edition. Not allowed to buy anything until the new year.

Destroyer lord: res orb, mind shackle scarabs, sempitermal weave, warscthe: 190
5 destroyers 200
4 scarabs 55
10 warriors: 130
10 warriors: 130
monolith: 200
spyder: fabricator claw, twin particle beam: 85

The idea is that using the basic phalanx approach, the 2 warrior squads march up with the monolith and spyder in support. The scarabs stay near the spyder for 2 turns to bulk up, then intercept enemy c/c troops or tanks getting too close to the phalanx. The destroyer lord is off jumping around with the destroyers blasting stuff.

What if I said that I'm using old Chaos Android models for my basic warriors?

Destroyers are not so good, IMO, but if they work for you, that's a cool list. I'd be tempted to take Praetorians with Voidblades and Particle casters.

Destroyers excel at killing marines on foot. If you're seeing a lot of marines on foot, Praetorians or Wraiths will do the job just as well.

Alternatively, you could drop the Orb from the Destroyer Lord and stick him in a unit of Wraiths. mmmmm tasty.

Edit: Just noticed the bit where you said it's based on stuff you have. Give it a whirl. Keep your destroyers in some kind of cover.

I've seen those models before but did not realise that is where they are from. That's hot.

Not a bad list considering what you've got to work with. My one question is why the claw? With just the Mono it doesn't seem you'll get much use out of it.

Here's what I have now.
Lord on foot
Destroyer lord
10 destroyers
6 scarabs
3 wraiths, 1 w/ whipcoils
5 immortals
40 warriors (20 are the old chaos androids)
1 monolith, plus 2 un-built
1 tombspyder

After X-mas (who knows what Santa will bring) I'd like to get
4 boxes of immortals: two squad of 10 w/ each weapon
2 barges: get 1 overlord on foot and annihilation barge and use one for command barge
1 box Lychguard: to turn into lords and crypteks using the leftover deathmark heads.
1 Arc to turn into triarch stalker
