Hey all,
I am trying to understand the Solar Pulse a bit better. lets say you have 1st turn, so you move and then it is your opponents turn. You activate solar pulse and have another turn again. After that 2nd turn is over, is it your opponents turn or do you have 3 full turns back to back before your opponents finally gets to go?

solar pulse only lets you remove the effects of night fighting for 1 player turn or lets you use night fighting for 1 player turn which can be used to make your opponent use the night fight rules for 1 player turn and then regular rules apply again on your turn.
You do not ever skip your opponents turn.

How would this be beneficial in a competition game then. So that you can close the distance and be able to shoot in 24" especially with a spammy type army.

units max range to fire during night fighting is 2d6 x3 so a maximum of 36 inches if your lucky enough to roll 2 6's.
That means long range weapons wont get to shoot unless they get close.
That also give you the opportunity to move closer and shoot during your turn with no restriction.
Only your opponent will have to roll to see how far each unit can "see"
Its also worth mentioning that if they roll to see something and their roll is too low to actually see the unit, they dont get to fire that turn, but this is all covered in the night fighting rules.

Cool. That helps clear a few things up.
Another side question .Now if I have Imokteh and night fighting is in effect for both sides. Both myself and oppenent roll 2D6 to see, correct? There is no special ability for the necrons (such as night vision) since I am the originator of the night fighting ability to help negate it?

I'm almost scared as to what translation of the book made you think the enemy skips a turn...

No, you have no ability to improve your nightfighting rolls. All you can do is turn off nightfighting, if you want, which forfeits your ability to get the lightning strikes

Actually, doesn't Nemesor have the ability to give out night vision/ acute senses as one of his abilities?
At work, so can't check the codex.

Well now I know I That I played the solar pulse thing incorrect last time. @ nosferatu: After using solar pulse your lightning is turned off for 1 round and will come back on the next.
I wish they would just write the rules in a more black and white way, none of this grey area stuff.

Solar pulse doesn't stop you from using lightning on later turns, but if you fail your night fight roll with imotekh tbe lightning is done. You can't use the solar pulse to keep it night and have imotekh still use lightning. Only night fight brought on by imotekh gets lightning.

That last note was more a general note. Not for that rule specifically.
