According to Space Wolves fluff, the Primarch Leman Russ founded the Space Wolves. I'm not totally familiar with the Imperial Guard fluff, but I do know their main battle tanks are named after Leman Russ. I'm new to 40K so this may seem overpowered, but an idea that I had to bring the fluff more in line would be to add the Leman Russ Battle Tank (and variants) and Leman Russ Demolisher (and variants) to their Heavy Support lineup. To balance these additions, the Space Wolves would no longer be able to field Predators, Vindicators and Whirlwinds. I worry that having both a Land Raider and Leman Russ on the battlefield at the same time would be overpowered, so I would add a footnote to the Codex stating that if a Space Wolves player wants to include a Leman Russ (any variant) they cannot include a Land Raider and vice versa.

Back in 4th Edition, Space Wolves actually could field Leman Russ tanks (before my time, sadly ), and everyone I've talked to seems to have been just fine with that.

yea, mostly because space wolves weren't the OP mass murder machines they have become.

The Leeman Russ which they could use in the last book was the autocannon version...so really an AV 14 super predator

As it were the whole Leeman Russ/IG/Space Wolf thing gets a bit messy the further back you go.
Currently he is a Primarch who inexplicably has a Tank named after him.
A long time ago he was an IG general with a tank named after him.

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

Space wolves were pretty average before this most recent codex. The leman russ added some good flavor. Was it the eradicator? I can't remember.

Exterminator, and yeah everyone takes Long Fangs anyway so there's no real need for it.

I've heard Russ was the one who found the STC used to build them but idk if there's any fluff basis for that or if it's pure fanwank

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.
