Hey guys, I'm new to both Dakka and 40k. Looked at armies and models and gotta say that the Forgeworld Lord Hector Rex model looks amazing and makes me want to start a small force more or less revolving around the Inquisition. Any ideas how to build such an army especially what units should I grab? And nothing that expensive... Though Lord Hector Rex does look really cool...

Well, if your gonna play an Inquisition themed army, Coteaz is mandatory. He is an Inquisitor lord who allows Henchen to be taken as troops. I would suggest a variety of Henchman in the squads. You have to convert, so look up some guides. If you want Hector Rex, go for it. He also comes with three Henchmen that could be easily used in a squad. And, of course, you'll need the codex.

I would like to know if anyone can tell me if i have a decent list here. Not to necessarily win games, but to stand up to armies well enough that I can lose or win and have a great time while I am at it.
So here"s the list

HQ
Vulkan He'stan
Master of the forge

Troops
2 tactical squads with flamers in each 10 men
1 scout squad 5 men
1 sniper scout squad 5 men
Possibly a third tac squad
Elites
5 man terminator assault squad
ironclad dreadnought 2 close combat weapons flamers on each arm
another ironclad dreadnought same as the first

Fast Attack
5 man Assault squad with a flamer

Heavy Support
Predator with twinlinked lasscannons and sponson lasscannons

vindicator

thunderfire cannon

if some one is able to provide feed back that would be great. thank you.

No no no no...... U should have an army list like this:
Vulkan He'stan
3x tacticals-multimelta,meltagun,combimelta (or if you are playing against orks mabye Flamers)
3x Rhinos for the Tacticals
1x land rader redeemer(multimelta and 2x heavyflamer)
5x assault termies+vulkan in the Landraider(Shield and hammer termies)
and then if you want some land speeders,take heavyflamer and multimelta
or Ironclad dreadnoughts(melta,flamer) ,(mabye in a drop pod)
Thats an awesome list... won 3 in a row vs Ig,necrons,nids..and then lost agains Purifier GK spam.. =)
