Subject: SOB dreadnought or flame tank

Has anyone thought about a sisters dreadnought, not just the Pent engine but an actual dreadnought like in Marines or Grey knights have. Would that make any sense for their fluff?
What about a flame tank? Something like the ba'al or, more appropriately, the hellhound of the Imperial guard. Does that make sense? It does burninate things

I'm not sure I'd like to see a dread. Personally, making the Pent Engine good would be better. I don't really want to see SoB just turn into T3 marines by GW adding Marine gear to them. It would be cool to see some more tank options though. First thing would probably be to make a burny Immolator worth it again. I wonder if it would be op to just give immolators the flamestorm cannon again, or maybe let them shoot the template like dreadnights or hellhounds.
After that, then sure, something like a hellhound or a baal pred would be cool, though I'd hate to see them just give us preds. Theres a lot fo cool things that GW could do with fire, melta, and bolters.

Orkses is never beated in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don't count as beat. If we runs for it we don't die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see! |

I agree, we already have space marines, chaos marines, grey knights and the various chapter specfic marines. SoB should really be treated as a different army and not just a different "flavor" of the same army construct.
That being said, I think it would be cool to see someone design a SoB dread to "count as" a Penitent Engine or something. That would actually be really cool and a great modelling opportunity, but I wouldn't want them to have a dreadnought in the rulebook even though it would work with their fluff.

They already have penitent engines. As other people have said noughts are too close to marines. Also functionally, with how the pilot is on the front, a PE is almost identicle to a dreadknight.
I suppose they could change penitent engines so that they are 'manned' by sister repentia instead of heretics. That would make more sense than putting convicts in control of extremely rare killing machines. It would also fit well with them making it a Codex SOB.

Right. The dreaded knight design belongs to the ecclesiarchy. As a super-penitent-engine it may have fit into style and feel of the army.
Real dreads are unlikely. Sentinels could provide the mobility in dense terrain and the typical weapons of the SoB.
Hellhounds had a short range, but were improved. Alter the "flame tanks" ( in this case immolators ) to a firing mode like the hellhound and they are fine again.

Okay, the dreadnought thing seems to not be okay. ha.
I'm still thinking tho that a new flame tank as a heavy choice with holy promethium would be cool tho. Maybe like a hellhound.

Look, it was trying to say:
- the model of the Dread-knight :
- got a front mounted pilot, and I agree it shares the concept with penitent engines.
- its just one step to make it an SoB engine of penance..
