Hi, Just recently completed a 1750 Ork V Necron "kill points" battle which the current score has the Necrons winning 10-8

However this could become a draw for the Orks depending on the kill points of the Royal Court as the final results are pending to this is solved. How are kill points solved for Royal Courts?

I had one lord and one cryptek. The lord lead my 20-warrior squad while the cryptek worked with the Lychguard. They both ended up dead by the end (with the squads attached). So is it:

1. Kill point for each character
2. Since the character joined the squad, the kill point will only be given if the whole squad is dead.
3. Killing the whole Royal Court counts as one kill point (even if split)

Treat them as you do WG; at the start of the game you dont have a Royal Court unit, meaning that unit cannot be destroyed, meaning you cannot give up a KP

Wait, so the character is just a member of the dying squad (no additional kill point?)

Also this brings up another thought.
What if I had... say more lords and cryptek that formed a Royal Court and stayed like that in a game. AND the lord and cyrptek were split into different squads. How would that work?

The exact same way it's worked for Wolf Guard. Before the game begins/during deployment, you choose to split off however many you want into other squads. Those guys become part of that squad for all purposes during that game, including KPs. Any model or models left behind in the original unit are a unit, and if that unit dies it's worth a KP as normal.

So, say you take a Royal Court of 6, or a SW player takes 6 Wolf Guard. At the beginning of the game you or he splits four of those models off to lead units. Those models are now part of those units for all purposes, including KP. The two models left behind make a unit of two models.

Check out the SW FAQ if you're still unclear. It's going to be ruled the exact same way if GW bothers.
