Thoughts opinions for semi-competitive tournament?

Trazyn the Infinite
Cryptek /w Harbinger of Destruction , Solar Pulse
5 Lychguard /w Dispersion Shields

12 Warriors
12 Warriors
11 Warriors

Anhillation Barge

993

Idea was 24 Warriors down the side, with Trazyn Squad and 11 Warriors down the other, making a pincer movement, but with the barge in cover aimed down the middle, to arc through the core of the enemy whilst using solar pulse to screw their shooting.

Lychguard at this point level are very hit and miss, and in an army that had no other close unit are likely going to get swept.

Necron Phalanx is nice but it just seems to be lacking a little something, on the move your average range is just 12 inches with only the barge and cryptek firing and moving on the average moving turn.

I'd suggest taking up some immortals with tesla so you can move and fire a good 24 in a turn. Or picking up another mobile weapons platform (barge, stalker, tomb blades etc) to support.

Praetorians over Lychguard then?? I was thinking of a tough unit for my HQ that can cope with say a squad of terminators etc. However Trazyn can come back on a Lychguard but not on a Praetorian..so i don't know about that ;P

How about ditching 11 Warriors for another barge? And ditching 4 Warriors (2 from each squad), as well as remaining points from 11 warriors, to buy a squad of 5 Immortals? They seem to be quite a useful unit.

Trazyn the Infinite - 175
Cryptek /w Harbinger of Destruction , Solar Pulse – 50
5 Lychguard /w Dispersion Shields – 225
11 Warriors – 143
10 Warriors – 130
5 Immortals /w Tesla Carbines - 85
Anhillation Barge – 90
Anhillation Barge – 90
988

Perhaps this?

I would suggest running Trazyn with some immortals to give him a hefty guard, honestly Praetorians are coming across as worse than Lychguard atm because of their hefty price cost, you might be better served fleshing out a larger court, since I think your character can come back through them fairly quickly and you can then spread your court out amongst your squads to give them a bit more focus.

I would:

Drop the Lychguard and pick-up an additional 2 crypteks.
Use the spare points to pick-up a second Barge.

Knock every warrior squad down to 8 men and pick-up 8 immortals as well, which boosts you to 4 troops choices, 3 of which can have a cryptek in and put the HQ in with the last.

And my maths might be a little out on this one but that might leave you enough points to pick-up some scarabs which was advice I received on my own list.

edit:

Which, without my book to hand should leave you around about:

Trazyn the Infinite
2 x Crypteks
Cryptek /w Harbinger of Destruction , Solar Pulse

8 Warrior
8 Warrior
8 Warrior
7 Immortals

Scarab Swarm (not sure how many bases you will afford)

Anhillation Barge – 90
Anhillation Barge – 90

If I were your opponent, here is what I would do against this list:

Turn 1: Wait out night fighting and gain position. Shoot at what I can with any lucky night fighting rolls.
Turn 2: Blast you back to the stone age with tanks.
Turn 3: Repeat Turn 2 until you are tabled.

My concern with this list is that the only anti-tank you have comes from a single source in the Cryptek, and only the one shot will not be consistent enough to gain the desired effect. While the Annihilation Barges can take out light armour, they are limited in their range and will likely be wrecked by tanks with longer shooting, or even a squad of missile launchers. Remember that the Barges are open-topped, so they can still be wrecked by glancing hits.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
This is how I would probably set an army up around your strategy: keep two annihilation barges in the middle, firing into the core of the enemy while the two units led by the Overlords march up the sides. Keep the smaller unit of Warriors behind to claim a backfield objective. You have less shooting from troops with this list, but the shooting is more consistent and you have greater range. Also, lots of anti-tank, and a second turn of Solar Pulse.

I think that Trazyn is more of a novelty; he just doesn't do enough damage to warrant his points cost. (without a power weapon or anything special, his Empathic Obliterator will rarely ever go off. And any wounds he does deliver will most certainly be allocated to a unique-ish model, just in case)

1x Overlord w/ Warscythe & Mindschakle Scarabs
8x Immortals w/ Tesla Carbines
1x Harbinger of Destruction w/ Eldritch Lance & Solar Pulse
1x Harbinger of Destruction
... points = 341
