Hello all,

Does the Court of the Archon have to accompany the Archon into battle, or can they function as a seperate unit if you want, like the SM command squad does? And furthermore, if they are a seperate unit, will the Archon still benefit from the Lahemean's 2+ poison wound effect?

Thanks in advance!

The Archon is still an Independent Character... therefore, that model is free to join/unjoin other units.

whembly, that doesn't help.
He's asking if the Court is a Retinue, (which I do not have the codex so I don't know) and if it is not a retinue, does the Archon benefit from the 2+ poison effect.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Nothing says the court is a retinue or that it must accompany the archon.

The weapons the Lhamaean carries are 2+ as well as the ones of "...the Archon she belongs to...".
This would be the Archon that the court was taken for at the start of the game.
It does not say the Lhamaean and the Archon she is joined to or joined with, so they would not have to be in the same unit.

After looking through the DE dex I'm inclined to agree with time wizard. The court are not counted as a retinue, simply a unit that does not belong to the FOC and is limited by the number of archons taken. The wording for the Lhamean's "Misstress of poisons" ability also does not specify for her to be joined the the Archon, so I would say as long as she lives the Archon will gain the benefit.

Now that being said, her bonus really does not benefit the Archon much other then his splinter pistol. The Venom blade already wounds on a 2+ and an Agonizer isn't a poison weapon sadly.

All poisoned weapons are upgraded to 2+. It does not go away and the Archon can be separated from his court. Assume the Lhamaean shares her poisons before the raid.

Sorry to necro this thread, but if the Lhamaean dies, does the Archon still get the benefit? If they're not in the same unit anyway, possibly on opposite sides of the board, then surely her death would make little difference?

8 days isn't that much of a necro but anyway. No her dying doesn't make her Archon loose the 2+ poison.

Agreed, as Blap said earlier, she hands out the poisons prior to the battle. So the Archon retains the 2+ poison weapons even upon her death.
