Anyone who plays Space Marine notice a really annoying trend on Multiplayer?
I find that a lot of high level characters start picking Assault Marines/Raptors and simply diving on new players and other immobile characters with insanely buffed weaponry.
This really peeves me as I try to go up in levels and have to go incredibly slowly as whenever I start shooting at someone I end up with a Thunder Hammer on my head.
Anyone else got problems like this?

Well, it's like that with any multiplayer game based on unlocking better stuff with leveling up.

It's the same way with Call of Duty or Battlefield - wait several months/weeks to play online, and you're going to be behind

This.

Melta Gun and Storm Bolters are great counters for Assault Marines. It's just a matter of playing and gaining experience on what kills what

I do this. And remember, you have to be ever vigilant.

Yea I never play as assault and I am always annoyed by them, but a lascannon or melta to the face makes them think twice.

Besides, the best weapon in the game is the bolt pistol.

Has good damage, a 15 round clip (With perk), better accuracy then the stalker bolter, infinite range and can headshot.

Anyone else annoyed by the fact that Assault Marines are more or less pointless for doing anything other than preying on low-level players? As soon as someone spots you they take your shield off with two or three shots and then just combat roll until you're dead. The feeling I have right now is that to do anything worthwhile as Assault Marine you have to have one of the weapon perks, but to get one of the weapon perks you have to suffer through games where you just die repeatedly because everyone has storm bolters, meltaguns and heavy bolters.

I guess it might just be me sucking, but combat roll combined with lag where people simply turn out to suddenly be behind me with their storm bolter/meltagun/hedgehog on a stick has started to get a bit old.

Then your probably doing it wrong. Blind grenades ftw.

I've been annoyed by being killed by a hammer after I've finished rolling out of the way.

Oh and a melta to the face in melee range not killing a raptor/assualt annoys me too.

Take death from above or improved stun

if you miss with your swoop attack, immediately take off again and throw a blind, if you do this fast enough most people, even with metla, will miss.
You dont have to fly all the way up to swoop in, literally any moment before you hit the ground you can hit the button to dive, most players will expect you to dive at the apex of your jump, I usually dive on the way up (requires very fast target acquisition) or as I am landing.

Assault marines/raptors is really what turned me off to the whole deathmatch thing. I like Exterminatitanicuses though. Assault marines kill me in 1-2 hits, and I can't get out of the way fast enough even if I roll. If I play an assault marine, I get meltaed to death by people who I never see coming, or blown to bitz by heavy bolters, because I'm a forevernoob. Seems like the only gun I've ever had any luck with is the lascannon, and only when I can snipe kids from across the board.

I love doing that with Lascannons. Once there was somebody on the other side of the Shattered Bridge map who tried to kill me by standing still with a Stalker Bolter. Big mistake. Whilst he was glancing my shields, I locked on his head and got around 150 XP for Long Range kill, Revenge, Headshot and ordinary Kill.

I have to say, lag in Exterminatus is the reason why I mainly play one man Exterminatus...

Im surprised more people dont use the lascannon, everybody raves about getting the sniper on halo. You think some people would use something which is EXACTLY THE SAME.
