Hi there, the Necron Canoptek Tomb Roach is my attempt of a simple, cheap and easy to build tomb spyder variation

Fluff: The Necron Canoptek Tomb Roach is one of many constructs roaming the dark depths of a Necron Tomb. Slightly smaller and more streamlined in shape, a Canoptek Tomb Roach can reach and squeeze into places that a typical Tomb Spyder finds rather impassable or very hard to reach like collapsed tomb tunnels, maintaince ducts or sewers.
Scuttling around quickly on six long and highly flexible legs, Tomb Roaches command swarms of Scarabs to carry out various tasks in a tomb or support them in combat with their underslung pairs of particle weapons. Usually operating in small groups, Tomb Roaches prove as one of many nasty surprises for the unwary intruders of any tomb world, as the Roaches cling to the upper walls and ceilings, mimicking their shape and structure, untill dropping down to attack the intruders shooting their particle weapons or pierce them with their deadly sting.

I will post a Tomb Roach-Tutorial including a parts list probably tomorrow on my blog as well as more pics, link is http://invivos.blogspot.com/

For now here are the pics of my 1st nearly finished Necron Canoptek Tomb Roach. One more Roach is currently in the pipeline. Hope you like them!

Cheers

I like it, simplistic and well executed.

Lovely conversion, id like some more detail on the back piece though.

As for the pics, the gallery here on dakka is really good to host them on, and they dont get deleted after 1 week because of lacking activity.

Now if only I could find those Donto Dent brush sticks of epic Necron roach leg goodness in the states... Anybody got a source for something like this on our side of the pond? My initial Google-fu has turned up nadda...

Edit:
I was so focused on those awesome sticks I forgot to say... Thanks for a great tutorial! You made a beautifuly executed conversion using some seemingly simple items - This is now my second favorite use of a spoon! Thanks again.

Your tutorial has exceeded the bandwidth limits of your host, can you just put it on google docs or scribd or something?

This is fantastic, thanks man. Not only does the tutorial tell how to make the roach, but a lot of methods and items you used could have great utility throughout a necron army. Good show!

Hope you post a tutorial for the stalker in the near future!

"Brushpick" worked like a charm here! I have 300 coming from China for less than $5USD... thanks, again, for the tutorial and elaborating on sourcing those epic sticks of necron buggy leg conversions!

Glad to hear that you found some suitable brush sticks! Maybe you´ll post your Necron conversions too on Dakka soon?

Check out my Tomb Crawler on the Dakka board too for additional inspiration. I have already some new ideas for my brush sticks, so stay tuned
