Curious, do all BS War Machines need true line of sight or only some? I was thinking perhaps Cannons, Bolt Throws and the like do, but Stone Throwers, Mortars etc don't. The reasoning being they're lobbing / firing the projectile above and beyond the friendly units in front of them.
I could be wrong so asking for some aid on this. I checked the War Machines section in the BRB but didn't see anything. Maybe I missed it? Is there a section in the BRB that touches on War Machines and Line of Sight?

All warmachines use LOS. Stone throwers dont need it but suffer penalties.

By default all war machines require LOS to their target, either a point on the table (cannon, etc) or to a unit ( BT / RBT)
By exception some do not need LOS

How do I figure out the exceptions? Would it be listed in their profiles?

I would assume reading the rules for the war machine in question would clarify the issue. Start with p. 109 (Shooting with War Machines), then check the rules for the specific unit. War machines from older army books might have unique rules, but most follow the rules for those detailed in the rulebook.
