Wondering Why the Emperor Left

I'm starting fantasy and I decided to make a list to work on building. What do you guys think, I know 1000 pts is smaller for Fantasy but I have a few friends who are also starting up a fantasy army.

Daemons of Chaos 1000 Pts

Herald of Tzeentch - 165
MoS
Spellbreaker

15x Bloodletters - 210
Full Command

15x Bloodletters - 210
Full Command

20x Pink Horrors - 240

5x Flamers - 175

1000 Pts

New to Fantasy and I haven't played a game yet, how does this list look. However my friend is playing High Elves. Is the low point level + High Elves ASF so bad that I should just go Pink Horrors and a Daemonette block with Herald for ASF?

Herald of Tzeentch - 165
MoS
Spellbreaker

Herald of Slannesh -90

15x Pink Horrors - 180

30x Daemonettes - 390
Full Command

5x Flamers - 175

1000pts

I'm thinking list 2 against High Elves but would List 1 be better against other armies?

On the perfumed wind

Do you have a lore in mind for the herald? That's pretty big to how this shakes out. The no-brainer is often shadow, however, I don't know this adds a *whole* lot against High Elves. Life might be nice to boost toughness on units and to regrow your losses. Elves are also not usually fans of dwellers.

I think either list is strong- the first will require you to soften large blocks before engaging, but this should be feasible with magic (remember your magic missiles from the horrors!) and 5 flamers at 1000 points.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

I like the first list. And if we are talking elves also consider the Banner of Change on those horrors and use them aggressively, Banner of Change should get you on average 11 hits on Elves 5-6 wounds. In combination with Gifts of Chaos it can take it's toll and expensive low T armies. I'm not a big fan of Shadow with the Herald of Tz. Miasma is great but everything from Enfeebling Foe and up you'll need a 10+ and only getting +2 to cast for the level 2 you will be 3 dicing it. Also do not count out the Lore of Tzeentch, a lot of cheap spells perfect for a level 2. Death is also an option just don't expect this friend to stay a friend if you abuse it too much. Doom and Darkness would be great in combination with fear causing units and Caress of Laniph and Soulblight have cheap casting values.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
-Alexis de Tocqueville.
