Those Eldar are already looking fantastic, (better than even without an basecoat... annoying brother)

So first I wan't to say AWESOME! that you pulled the patterns on the back trough the intire squad! real freaking awesome.

Brother saids on the first question : Just make them ulthwé

On the second question : Leave them black (I believe they are black on the GW ones too) and just highlight them , here I add, good chance to try a little bit black highlighting xD look at the back of the exarch which I did, not perfect but you should see the effect

and YES! he likes them alot! (ofcourse he does, he isn't painting them himself)

so little update: fire prism decoration finished.. shining spears updated: note the helmets and spear tips are finished.. next up the gems on the prism and spears, also started basing I think I'm going for a grey colour and some blue-ish shine or something, with rubble, batle crap and maybe some victims as well and snow ofcourse..

I used yellow light so it turns out yellow but its white ofcourse

so I have been working in a new eldar spear guy a warlock could it be? I don't know.. I finished the fire prism and have been working on the chaos rihno..
about the riho: He's for your chaos chosen you will have one day ^^ i added a nurgle symbol and some trophy racks as well as a chaos symbol.. what ya think?

That's a warlock indeed. I like the fire prism effect, looks really neat!

yeah it's alright ^^ I copied the effect from the codex and it turned out pretty neat..

How did you pull off such clean crisp lines? Did you tape anything? Those are fantastic.

yes they were painted ivorywhite first then i taped them and painted black over it.. it needed some touche-ups but as you see the end result is quite nice ^^ thx

so update on the big chunk.. this is how your army looked like when it came out of two detol baths a dreft bath a washbenzine bath and a white spirit bath.. ther's no way in HELL I'M GOING TO DO THAT OVER! !



after a black basecoat they look like this.. better then I expected I'm satisfied.. they need a second layer though.. and the dire avengers had a hite basecoat but i'm too lazy to take ANOTHER picture..

to gaurdian squads almost finished: the left squad has the cool stripes on the helmets and on the guns and the right squad is just the ordinary gay eldar dudes (yeah xeno hater)
so the bases were done with the snow.. they still need the gloss varnish so it doesn't look very good yet..

i added some imperial defences to the fire prism base and some counts as razorwire on the shining spear leader dude guy whatever


and all the painted models so far.. sadly the avatar has broken off his foot.. still 9 gaurdians to go 1 spider guy and the dire avengers and dark reapers.. (and heavy weps also)
the wraithlord is on the drying rack in the back

First I wan't to say, beautiful drying rack!

second, AWEMSOOOOMMMMEEEEEE!!! they are looking real nice! don't forget the weapons on little platforms for the gaurdians! each squad has one ;D

SO here's another update, now i got over the hangover of al the party'ing at NYE I started painting again..

dire avengers: not very clear but they are going to have white helmets and striped crests.. and black faces and armour kinda 'deathmask' feeling or whatever i like them..


the avatar is glued back on its base and i started on the warlocks and the the farseer is based.

as you guys can see the exarch's back has an extra pair of stripes, to indicate veterancy or devotion or something eldar-like




what is next is the thing i talked you guys about.. the spraypaint ruined the surface.. don know why.. i got two options here.. paint over it (cant remove this kind of paint) so i can paitn over it or make crashed falcon terrain piece.. your call..

hmmm gonna give you a good answer over the falcon once brother get's home agian, or maybe you took contact already, anyway,

I believe, as our opinions will not be that diffrent in this matter, that my brother (and I) would wan't you to try to paint it over, see where it goes too and then see what will be the final decision. It's a pity though that his falcon got kinda like that, but as long as he doesn't have problems with it it's cool xD not my model anyway! Also there's really no way you can try taking the paint off? I think it should work :p maybe because of the misfortunate event it might just be removable, you never know, try that first, then maybe try to overpaint it and the last option is indeed to wreck it and make some terrain xD (But my brother isn't going to like this last option, think it's one of the few situation he actually cares about his models) Falcons aren't cheap :p so just try taking the paint off there's no danger in trying if the paint wouldn't go off anyway so just try ;D

if i try to take it off it can get worse.. i used two differnt paint types over eachother and they react this way.. and if one of the two gets of.. and the other one doesn't it's going to be a hell of a mess.. and than your falcon is a gonner.. i would just paint over it and try to learn to live with it but that's up to jonas to decide.. my opinion is that trying to remove the paint is the worst option out of trhee and the one with the smallest chance of succes.. it's your call jonas but you know my advice and opinion..

The wraithlord looks awesome.

Are you using a varnish to coat the models after you've finished painting? it looks quite glossy.

Super freakin (late in the day) update! awesome dude truly love those guys! now still some avengers, warlock and the nasty avatar ^^ man you are so close to finishing the army, dude super awesome...

last Wip update before the entire army is done.. i have done it.. i have unpainted and repainted an eldar army of aprox.2000 pts in three weeks.. it has been a ride but i'm proud of it

falcon close-up (you see, it came out alright you can still see the paint chipping but it's not that bad..) but i'm totally out of bleached bone no so he won't get the stripes on the front.. but that's ok i geuss?
