my own thoughts on this is to maybe switch the termies to assualt termies but i already have shooty termies so maybe a different hq and are rhinos necessary for my two units or is it cool for them to footslog it to objectives

I think you should take Vulkan instead of Lysander for twin-linked meltas, flamers, mms, HFs. You should take two dakka preds instead of Term squad. With the amount of points left you can give everyone rhinos.

I also run my tactical squads mm and flamer for twin-linked goodness but choice is yours!

Both Lysander and Vulkan are expensive at this points range. They both take away combat tactics and even Vulkan doesn't make for the lack at this points range.

Transportation is key even at 1000pts, you can not really afford to foot slog.

You will not need 3 tactical squads take something more killy.

Two rhino tactical squads, try combimeltas. Then probably a librarian maybe with gate as a HQ. The shooty termies work well at 1000pts as they are flexible, maybe change these later. Then spend the rest of the points on cooler models would be my suggestion.

I would really recommend trying at least 1500 pt list to know where you want to go then just restrict the list to form your 1000 pt army.

I would also look into getting rid of the terminators and replacing them with a Sternguard squad and also replace your HQ choice with Pedro Kantor that way you can have a really versatile elite choice that is also scoring.

You have to have 2 scoring units anyway but then you pick Kantor to get even more?

I was trying to not generalise but let's go for no special characters for HQ apart from Shrike and Khan if you want a theme/token army and Cassius also might be good.

my fluff is Imperial Fist oriented so that is why I choose Lysander. But I think a termie libby would work out fine with me.

If I had to pick a sc hq then it would be Lysander so you are correct that now it would be to pick a non special HQ.

I like your list. Tacs can be plenty Killy, just put a fist in a squad or two.

Suggestions.

Downgrade from sc, Libby is solid if suits your fluff.

Get at least 2 vehicles w dozer blades. I suggest troops w fist take combi too, ie cm & m or cf & f. For third troop have as obj holder, ie lascannon plasma gun.

While assault cannon is excellent, you can strip if need points, those guys still will make their points.

Think your list would work fine as is, I would say put Lysander with a tac squad at present so you have two solid cc arms.

I have to say Lysander is a bit to much points at this level. So bring that Terminator Librarian around insteed, he should do very well.

Switch the assault cannon into a cyclone insteed, it is a fantastic weapon to use.

You should get 2 rhinos with tacs having MM, flamer and fist + combi melta. Perhaps throw in 5 scouts with camo cloaks and snipers for the third troop choice.

Any points left over should go into speeders or dakka preds i believe.
