I want either full cinerators or full bastions with a paladin to get me to 25 pts
which should I get

You'd do better with Errants but of the two Bastions are better.

Bastions are more survivable and if you're playing scenarios then it could take 39 wounds just to remove the bastion that's in the way of the enemy.

Cinerators are much better at troop clearing with their flaming swords and though they don't have reach and thus seem to have less threat range than bastions, if they take damage they can reach out and touch the enemy at 9.5".

Both units are slow and ponderous so be prepared to be struck first. You'll strike back hard though.

At the moment we are not playing scenarios as we are just getting into the game, so I will get cinerators

If you don't have the Battlebox yet, get the two player set and
split with someone who wants khador. That'll get you Kreoss,a
Crusder, a Repenter, a Vanquisher, and a unit of Cinerators.

Depends what you are going to use them for really...

against troopers use cinerators
against heavy troopers and warjacks use bastions
