So I'm theorycrafting a new Necron roster and figured I'd run it by the Dakkanauts; what do you guys think?

HQ:
Nemesor Zahndrekh (300 pts)
-Cryptek (Harbinger of Destruction)
--Eldritch Lance
--Solar Pulse
-Cryptek (Harbinger of Despair)
--Abyssal Staff
--Veil of Darkness

Necron Overlord (325 pts)
-MSS, Phaeron, Warscythe, Phase Shifter, Resurrection Orb
-Cryptek (Harbinger of Destruction)
--Eldritch Lance
--Solar Pulse
-Cryptek (Harbinger of Despair)
--Abyssal Staff
--Veil of Darkness

Elites:
C'Tan Shard of the Nightbringer (235 pts)
--Lord of Fire
--Time's Arrow

Troops:
10 x Immortals (170 pts)
-Gauss Blasters

10 x Immortals (170 pts)
-Tesla Carbines

10 x Immortals (170 pts)
-Tesla Carbines

Fast Attack:
6 x Canoptek Wraiths (240 pts)
-3 x Whip Coils

6 x Canoptek Wraiths (240 pts)
-3 x Whip Coils

10 x Canoptek Scarabs (150 pts)

The Plan:
First enemy turn takes a Solar Pulse - TO THE FACE! My first turn sees Scarabs looking for a vehicle to munch whilst Wraiths look for equally juicy targets. Crypteks of Destruction and Overlord join the Gauss Immortal squad, giving them Relentless and making them tank hunters. Crypteks of Despair each join an Immortal squad, giving those squads all kinds of mobility - perfect for late game objective capping. Zahndrekh (I'm not sure where to put him yet) can grant my Gauss squad Tank Hunters , or Stealth if they're in cover. C'Tan Shard ideally pairs with the Wraiths (hard when he's so slooooow) and wacky hijinks ensue with Whip Coils and Time's Arrow.

Thoughts on the Army Composition:
Most of my list is pretty mobile (with Necrons, even! Who'd have thought?) with the exception of the C'Tan and the Gauss squad, although Relentless helps in the latter case. I'm still not sure what to do with Zahndrekh - at first I thought I'd put him with the Deep Striking Immortals, but I think I need those units to be expendable. I suppose I could put him with the Gauss squad, but then that squad is carrying more than a quarter of my army's points - a pretty tempting target. I would have liked to find the points for Obyron, as he's a melee monster and that Ghostwalk Mantle - SEXY. Also, not a big fan of the Lord of Fire but I only had 10 points left.

What do the Dakkanauts think?

To many points for your hq s

I usually run imoteck
With 4 destruction 1 despair with vail of d. Cryptecks

4 x 5 immortals in night scynth (4 tesla destructors)

I like a ghost arc or 2 with 10 warriors

I take 2 or 3 x 6 scarabs

For the ctan I like spirit dust and writing world scap... (makes enemy think twice before assaulting you in cover or going after objectives within terrain...

Lord of fire never works ( placement) etc...

And finally never go into battle with out 2 or 3 annilation barges! With gaus cannon for the ap 3

If I take an assault squad like you I take 6 wraiths with wips

Moving on the board via deep strike is akin for it... Never had so many miss aps in my life than with new necrons... I must have lost my hq 3 times thanks to that crypteck of despair...

Bah, Necrons are made for filling the HQ slot with points! (though idk if it's the best competetive choice )
Also, as noted, be VERY careful with VoDstriking. Things can go very wrong..
