Guardsman with Flashlight

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas! Lil bit about my gaming career, I started with IG 5-6 years ago by a guy who gave me a free guardsman to paint. A haitus of a couple of years went into the Space Marines (and a little orks), and I went back into IG last year.

I just started this blog to help keep me organized and modivated in finishing the things I have started (Big Procrastinator). I'm currently adding on to my DIY IG Army (Just under 1400pts not counting new guys) with Catachans. My DIY Space Marine Army (Unknown) is waiting for the hobby drill to save all the flat bolter nossles and broken Terminators, and with a company of SM, it seems really daunting right now.

Anyway, here's a batch of Guardsmen that I just primed.

This is the Guardsman that I green stuffed the neck from the 5 pack guardsmen so it doesn't look like he's in a Broadway Production.

Custom Heavy Flamer

The first three Catachans I've painted, green stuffed the hats

And here's the color scheme I started with around 5-6 years ago...a short time compared to the veterans who play.
C&C welcome
Sorry if the pics are bad, I haven't found the cord to my other camera.

After surfing through Dakka, my mind is mostly blown away by all the inspiration on here.

Anyway, it's good to remind yourself that putting the model together, priming and painting it, isn't always the best way to do it. So the Catachans that I did yesterday were disassembled, individually put into the Rhinos (below) and now I'm hitting them one at a time.

Here's the guy that I did last night.

And because my concentraion is the size of a pea, I forgot to upload the army pictures. Enjoy!

Imperial Guard (w/ a few busted heavy weapons and a Space Marine for a count as servitor, LRBT + Demolisher) not pictured: Chimera

Space Marines (Still have to base most of them) not pictured: Scouts + anything else I'm forgetting right now

I got Plasticard for the first time so I'm going to try to revive a Land Raider (I only got half of it cause it was Bitz Day at the GW store I go to). And as another project (just to make sure); would it be copy right if I tweaked a few things on the dune buggy from the PS2 game Jak 3, the Sand Shark, and made it into a count as Land Speeder/ Rough Rider?

Wow, just noticed that Necron was mispelled
All is well, I was able to go to GW yesterday, played an apoc game (one of the other guys on the other team had to go), and I picked up a small detail brush and a hobby drill. I started to fix everything that had broken, starting with my Sentinel and Terminator.

Dakka, I'm going to need your help with this one. This is the part Landraider I got from GW a while back and tried (I disgraced Yoda) to resurect it. Can you all help me with this?

Sorry to all who have been following; between school, work, and the Homework, I haven't been able to post. A short update, I have one more Catachan to paint before they're "all done" (Just missing the little stuff like the belts).

Anyway, in the attempt to organize my very cluttered art table, I made this list.

Imperial Guard
• Fix anything (HWS, Heavy Stubber on the LRBT,)
• Get all guys painted (HWS, possibly the Demolisher, the 5 Cadians)
• Get everyone based*
Space Marines
• Fix/paint everyone (Assault squads, heavily coated SM, Scouts)
• Land Raider
• Organize into legal squads (mostly done)
• Base Everyone
Necrons
• Just the Tomb Stalker (pics soon)
Orks
• Homemade Killa-Kans

Then just the idea of a DIY carrying case

*Where my Imperial Guard are (in my imagination) in a huge forest that has grown up though some ruins, and the grass (Since I don't have anything other than GW static grass) is supposed to be regular grass, just over grown a bit.
Thoughts on that?

C&C welcome

I know how it feels with that darn homework and as for the overgrown grass idea that is preaty good idea you should incorperate that into a display board or a homemade board to go with you basing idea

That sounds like a good idea, another thing to put on the to do list...possibly a future Games Day Armies on Parade...

...the plotting continues.

Small update: the camera won't focus to take pictures... ! Anyway, I've hand drilled the Tomb Stalker's body and I'm possibly going to put clay on the base so it looks more realistic. I'm doing the shoulder pads of my Space Marines in it's lightning fashion (almost like a Night Lords theme). The Land Raider is starting to come together slowly.

And... the Catachans are done!

I've heard about the big apoc game that's going down at GW on Feb. 18. That's a good time line to get my SM in. The Landraider, Squads, and a possible SS/TH Terminator squad with a Chaplain for the Landraider.

Thanks to everyone who takes a look at this; to all who have been following I've bought a 'depleted" AoBR for 20$. It had some orks missing, 2 tac squads, 4 terminators, dreadnought, and the captain.

I hope to get pictures of everything on here within a week or so.

Finally got around to getting the pictures up.

The SM that I got with a little bit of my own awaiting the simple green

Just my Necron base

There's a little bump in the middle with a crater, I was planning on setting fire to the extra green stuff that the necron came with (extra engery left over from the shot he took)

And this is as far as I got with the Landraider

(it obviously needs some green stuff)

Enjoy! C&C welcome!
