Dante has it, and the Honor Guard does not.

The question is as follows: If Dante joins the Honor Guard at the beginning of the game reserving for deepstrike, does the Honor Guard gain DoA or does Dante lose DoA?

Thanks for your replies and thoughts.

Check the rules for jump packs in the codex. That should answer your question.

This is in the BGB FAQ, actually. If any member of a unit does not have the ability to deepstrike, then the entire unit loses the deepstrike ability.

And this has nothing to do with what he's asking about, actually. They're already deep striking (yay jump packs) but he was asking about DoA. Which the BA codex is pretty specific about.

Any model with a jump pack gains DOA

"Suffering is Faith, Faith is Strength.

Generations have suffered with the same devotion that we can offer but once. Still, our Faith leads us through these dark times like a beacon. It will guide us to triumph over these abominations. Either by breaking them upon us like waves against a limitless, golden peak or by thrusting through them like the spear of the Immortal Emperor Himself." - Cannoness Aoife, Order of the desert rose #Yesallwomen

My bad, I misread the question quite badly. ^ This is your answer.

Thank you all very much. I thought that I had read that, but I could not find it when questioned about it.

It was indeed under the Jump Packs entry in the wargear section.

Thanks Again.

They don't scatter because of DoA. Hence the question posed in this thread.

Close, they don't scatter because of Dante's Tactical Precession special rule. DoA reduces scatter distance as well as improves chances of coming in from reserves.

Dante has a special rule which completely eliminates scattering. However, DoA has two benefits. The one I am interested in with regards to this squad is re-rolling the reserve roll to see when they arrive.
