Just brainstorming here, noi codex in hand, used to play years ago. I had a Cult of Khorne terminator army and it was brutal... Is an all Khornate army still viable in the current 40k?

Yeah, I've seen a large Khorne army (don't know if it was good or not, though,)

You can play Khorne Beserkers or CSM with a Khorne icon for troops. Chosen and Terminators can also take a Khorne banner. Characters can take the Mark of Khorne. Any vehicles could be festooned with Khornate iconography. Bloodletters can be used for Summoned Daemons.

So you can definitely have the look all the way and much of the army can be legitimately Khornate.

Not as it used to i`m afraid. But with what you can do its still damn scary.

I'd go on the rumor thread if I were you, and read the posts about the next chaos codex. If you like khorne as much as I used to (before I gave away my soul and became a necron), there's a chance you'll get a boner.

No, it would not be competitive. Having a Lord is an awful decision. Yes, Khorne Berzerkers are great! Chaos Space Marines aside from Nurgle have a tough time being competitive when you keep to a single theme. I've tried all 4. Failed with 3. Nurgle was successful, but still had flaws. Khorne did do better then Tzeench though!!! It's very middle of the road for an already middle of the road codex and army.

Problem with the current CSM Codex is that only Berzerkers and other 'cult' troops have Fearless, and we all know what a pain in the ass Fearless can be for CC troops. Terminators and the like, while pretty cool (5 attack lighting claws with IoK and all champs), they are just Ld 10 and have no 'And They Shall Know No Fear', so your very expensive LC terminators have a very legit chance to either run off or be swept.

Besides vehicles, Khorn has no reliable long range AT (well, everyone is screwed this way).

The current codex is just not very good. 6th Ed should be much better... I hope.
