Hey Dudez, im new to the forum and have just a years experience in 40k, so anyway i was gonna make a custom SM chapter called the "Shadow Blades" which similar to the white scars chapter is based on speed. so i got some assault marines and some veterans and other things, but my paint scheme looks all wrong. I got all the paints, foundations, and washes. and two packets of green stuff, so how do you think i could make them look cool. at the moment i just want ideas about my vanguard veteran squad.

Well post up how your painting them and your step-by-step guide and then we can offer some expert advice

Hey also, i was thinking of using the green stuff to make cloaks for them (normal cloaks, seeing as you cant give veterans camo cloaks) and hoods aswell, any thoughts?

Post painted pictures for better critique on why they don't look as good as you'd like. Personally, I find red and black to be a really passe color scheme, and sort of like "baby's first Marines scheme" since everyone has done something like it at one point or another. Mithril silver is also really bright, you might want to try Boltgun Metal. Also, are you highlighting/shading? That's what really makes a model look good.
