Hey, just thrown a quick list together yesterday and i have very little knowledge in not just LOTR but Warhammer as a whole in terms of actually playing and just want some feedback on the list i have produced and if it is actually legal or not.

I have tried to keep the list fairly simple with a solid block of warriors, a form of reliable fast attack from the knights and finally the fountain guard using the bodyguard rule with the captain of men. I'm sure there will be one or two mistakes i may not have noticed but please do tell me! Thanks

Update: Took ringwraith's comments into consideration and sorted out how many points i had correctly, removed a single MT knight and added gamling mounted into the group to give them more chance in the battle after the charge.

Well first of all I guess your playing SBG not WOTR. Yep your list is legal. So far your list is not bad but you might want to consider some changes. First of all the captain is always a good choice and fountain guards come in handy with their special rule. Keep them behind supporting so that you get rid of the cheaper and more inexperienced troops first. WoMT are always good, just their strength lets them down at little. Now, for knights I personally don't think they're worth it. Yes they are good for charging the first time but once they get bogged down the get killed fast. If you wanted to keep cav you'll need a hero or captain on horse(convert one). This means you'll have more chance once your in battle.

Thanks Ringwraith, i have taken your comments into consideration and added gamling the captain of rohan with the squad of knights and reduced the number to 5 to even up the points.

I'd drop Gamling because he's from Rohan.

Add another captain to replace him, put that captain on a horse with a lance and shield. Drop the Fountain Guards, they are really good for sealing down the battlefield but they have no oomph when they fight, Use all the remaining points on more knights.

Also bows are your friends against goblins and orcs and harad. If you are playing them consider adding a few more

i want to keep the fountain guard because they are only a little more than regular minas tirith warriors at 10 points per model and like you said they are good for gaining a little control.

i'll look into more bows as a possible option.
