Im going to start an Ork army soon consisting mostly of shoota boys some lootas and stormboyz
For my force i chose not to go the "Green Tide" route but rather for a "Red Tide" inspired by the Fel Orcs from Warcraft III/Wow
My problem is however with this beeing a fresh start with a new army i want them to look as good as possible while still maintaining a good speed of finishing models (hate playing with unpainted figures). With this in mind i think the best solution to this problem would be to dio the orcs in army painter quickshade but know i dont quite know how to best set up the other colors
Should i get the Dragon Red spray to start with and from there paint teeth, clothing, arms before i dip em or is there a better way to do this ?
What would be the equivalent with green orks since i dont remember seeing orks getting sprayed green before getting painted/dipped so if not red witch color would be the best to apply by spraying ?

When it comes to Quickshade, what you said to do (applying basecoats only) is exactly what you do. Some people go on to add further highlights after the dip fully dries, but that's to your taste.

As to which Army Painter primer to use, that's your call. Dragon Red is darker than Pure Red, but I haven't seen them in person on a primed only model to be able to tell you the fine details.

Hm ok, but my problem is i never ever painted orks before and i never used quickshade
so lets say i chose the dragon red spray and the strong tone quickshade
what other paints do i use preferably before applying the dip
skull white for the teeth, bestial brown/desert yellow for clothing and boltgun metal/dwarf bronze for the weapons ?
I dont quite know how the dip will work on those so i`d rly appreciate some info from guys that already used quicksade ^^

Quickshade will work just fine on GW/Vallejo paints. I used it when I just started learning how to paint and also used it on my Orks. Think of it as a larger application of a wash, but it also includes gloss varnish.

The scheme is your choice. I suggest to paint up and dip a test model and see how the results are to your liking.

Oooh, Fel Orcs! Nice!

I don't use quick shade, but I would use a dark red a base coat, then highlight with brown and tannish tones. If the highlighting is too overpowering, I'd then use a dark brown wash. If it's coming out more brown, then red, then I'd use a red wash over the figure.

Just remember to use your references. Run Hellfire Dungeons with your 85 and take lots of screen shots. Or, you can also try using WoW Model Viewer.

YOU MUST POST your pics when you pau! I like see'm!

FOR THE HORDE!!!
