I'd get 20 sluggas from AoBR to get that mob up to 30. You need more lootas to get some solid fire support as well. A battlewagon with deffrolla would be a great unit for the boss and nobz to ride in, but would draw a lot of fire unless you had mobs in trukks to run interference.

Deffinetly more sluggas
Burnas are great if you know what you're doing
more Lootas are a must
Kommandos are good when the time comes
IMHO Warbikes are always a must too

Boyz, preferably sluggs boyz to beef out your troop choices, failing that get either a 'rolla wagon, or Big mek with a KFF

More boyz. If you want something more specialized, buy it, but if you are unsure of where to go with the army, green tide is always a good decision.

I'll add to the "MOAR BOYZ" posts. The codex wasn't joking when it said they form the backbone of your army.
Then, it's up to your play style and the list you want to make
Kans are always a good addition (3 more and you are maxed). As is Ghazzy. Getting more Lootas will be a big one (15 is a decent amount unless you are going REALLY shooty)
Also surprised there's not many suggestions for Big Mek. One of the best HQ's in the game (when taking KFF).

What dodgywop said.
I also heavily discurage getting a battlewagon, as many here suggested. Battlewagon do not belong with kanz. You are far better of putting those nobz in a trukk and reserving them, than wasting a lot of money and points on a model that doesn't fit the army at all.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Just going to add to the (green) tide of voices here saying "MOAR BOYZ". Some of the most effective armies I've seen were Green Tides - just masses upon masses of Slugga Boyz. From my experience, namely what I go up against at my FLGS, a lot of players don't know how to effectively deal with something in the range of 90-180 boyz hitting the field.
Though be wary of dropping that many. The army tends to get in its own way if you don't set up right, or your opponent huddles in a corner.

I play a MEQ player that always turtles in a corner of the board. Frustrates the hell out of me and usually makes me bring suicide koptas and Snikrot/Kommandos so I can come in behind them.

When painting orks, I'm always amazed how all those armor plates result into 6+, while thick jackets turn into 5+ for the imperial guard.

Actually far from a no-brainer. A battlewagon does not belong in any list containing killa kanz or a deff dread.

Ghaz
Boys
looted wagons with boom gun
but with that initial list here are some ideas that you have enough to run with:
2 squads of boyz and trukks (decent utilitarian units)
the boyz can be painted a little different and you can run kommandos (handy for getting at irritating things from the back of the board with Boss Snikrot his Ambush rule is handy)
you can do a little modding(add a barrel or something to the shoota boyz) and run flash gitz
Fix up a nob to be a big mek no problem take three sprue sticks and a couple small styrofoam balls and a little wire.... poof kustom force field big mek and walk him around with the kans.... If you want just a basic big mek you should have some bits to make meks in the loota box.
No self respecting ork player doesn't own Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thrakka, so if you want to get the most out of a green tide army (boyz boyz boyz boyz) putting 180 boys on the table and ghaz is a very intimidating army especially in an objectives game
But Ghaz is an awesome model to field and players will shoot at him or whatever is carrying him like the day is long

I think that between all the voices on here your confusion may have increased rather than been put to rest. My advice would be when you have limited models decide what style of play you like best.
If you like the idea of a big beefy transport rolling up and popping out loads of guns to bring some pain to the enemy then invest in a Big Mek with KKF, a Battle Wagon or three, and a ton more boys.
If you want to limit your expenses based on what you already own as well as really enjoy the idea of tons of dudes walking in waves across the field I suggest going with either a kan wall list or a green tide list. They are essentially the same with the exception of including or not including the kans. If this appeals to you then get a Mek with KKF, another 3 Kans, and WAY more boyz. When you start to flirt with 1500 to 2000 point games you can look into Lootas, Koptas, Deff Dreads, a second Mek etc.
I play the Kan Wall myself. It is fun and not really that overly complicated. Once it is completely painted I will either start a new army or just expand my Waaaagh to include the ability to use BattleWagons. Eitherway, you can't go wrong....just think about what interests you the most when making your first purchases so that your army works well together.
Jidmah, Dodgywop, and Ghengis John are great sources of information. You can also search out DashofPepper on here. He isn't as active anymore on DakkaDakka, but he does have a lot of good battlereports posted as well as tactical articles that he wrote.
Either way, enjoy the Orks!!!
