For Christmas recently, I got several Shadow Spectres, and considering they're all unique sculpts and rather uncommon models altogether, I want to assemble them exactly like the studio models. However, the ribbons are really somewhat confusing. Aside from looking at pictures, now am I expected to assemble these things?
Is this the "for experienced modelers" issue?

Honestly, I don't see any real pattern to it.
Just go for the elbows or knees.

Hah, I noticed you said the same on Facebook...
Either way, it looks like the connections of the "loop" ribbons are somewhere on the gun-arm-shoulders mirroring the other arm, and the two "loose" ribbons are somewhere on the backpack that are really hard to see.
I wish the thing came with instructions, but I guess you have a point. So long as I do the same with all of them, it's hard to go wrong.

FW and instructions ...
Next you'll be wanting them free of miscasts.
Some people really do want things spoonfed to them.
Yes, it's part of the "experienced modellers" issue. Look at their pictures and various views, and figure it out. It's not rocket surgery.

Some Forge World models do come with instructions. Not that I've ever really need them in the past though.
The pictures are insufficient this time, Mister Chromedog Grumpypants.

The majority of their models don't come with instructions.
Or any form of protective packing (to stop them rattling around in the box from the other side of the planet).
Exercise your modelling common sense and pick somewhere - or just leave them off.
