Been trying to make some collars/neck armor for my XV8 suits like in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/user/BlueWarGaming?feature=g-user-u#p/u/11/k-J_tSgusUI
However, I cant seem to come upon a good solution. I've asked the owner and he's been promising to put up a video "soon". That was like months ago. Any of you pros out there have any suggestions on how I coudl go about doing this?
I've tried using plasticard and some diff tubings, but having a hard time getting it right. Thanks! Automatically Appended Next Post: You can see the collar pretty goo in his xv88 vid too: http://www.youtube.com/user/BlueWarGaming?feature=g-user-u#p/u/4/NNOwZoZd9uE

It looks like just a piece of plasticard tubing to me, what kind of problems are you having with the tubing?

Perhaps i'm using too thick of plasticard. It's too strong for the glue to bond with. It pulls itself back to its original shape breaking the bond.

Shape the curve with hot water FIRST.
(Not boiling - hot tap water will do the job).
Let it cool, THEN glue it to the model.
I've shaped up to 2mm thick plasticard using hot water and had no problems.
You will need tweezers or something though.

Ahhh, thats a good idea. I've been trying to use a heat gun but I'm so polish it hurts. I cant seem to get the distance right and keep ruining the plasticard. I'll give hot water a go.
