This thread does what it says on the tin.

When I do a google search for scar-veterans mounted on cold ones, I sometimes can find an image of a scar-vet on a cold one with a great weapon (rather than weapon and shield). Is such a model still available? Or am I going to have to cobble something together from spare parts?

Thanks.

I don't recall such a model being made by GW. Perhaps it was a one off.

Is this it? Using your search terms, it's the only one I could find that was mounted on a cold one with a great weapon. The guy on the right.

If it is, it doesn't appear to be available anymore. The one on the left is available as Lizardmen Saurus Oldblood on Cold One, but the one on the right isn't on the site anymore.

Yep, that's it.

Damn.

I think I can probably hack something like that together if I'm willing to butcher the standard Cold One Rider's arms and use my leftover Temple Guard halberd as a base.

Try the swap shop forum, ebay, bartertown, etc. I'm sure someone has one they'd be willing to part with.

I can't recall that model EVER being available. He certainly isn't in the WD when it was released, nor any Lizardmen army books or the Lustria supplement.

Huh.

Maybe he's one of those odd one-offs they tend to make and never mass manufacture.

Now only a CSM player.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my conversion process is - so far - an unqualified success. I used saurus hero on cold one model as the base but replaced the arms. I chopped up a Temple Guard halberd and a Saurus Warrior empty fist, pinned and glued like a crazy S.O.B, and I have a model I can play with. I still need to fill in the (many, egregious) gaps with greenstuff - including completely re-sculpting the poor guy's left shoulder - before I can base, prime, and paint, but I'm happy with where this project is going. I'll post pictures later.
