I need a colour scheme for my new chaos marine battleforce.

I want somthing alittle different, maybe somthing that tells a tragic story.
So far ive painted one marine really light stone greyish white colour but im not sure where to take it from there, any ideas for a scheme that really stands out?

Since its chaos, I'd go with the Robin Williams line from "Good Morning Vietnam" - make them clash.

Grab a color wheel and look for the two that clash the most.

Tell a sad story hey?

Well tones of blue and black set a mood for depression. Depends on what sort of sad story you want.

Darker greys and red might bring this effect also. I suggest reading this. Interesting point on yellow being depressing.

I certainly know when I see the wrong shade of yellow mixed with another colour or even shaped strangely I dislike it.

hmm maybe maybe..

I like both the ideas, maybe i can find a way of combining them hmm....

For max depression paint them Thousand Sons. Now there's a sad story if I ever heard one.

Deep crimson is a beautiful color, in my opinion.

I would go for a slaneesh color scheme like pink and purple now thats an awesome color.

Hmm got some good ideas going, im torn between a high colour scheme, im talking bright biosuit colours lol

or something that oozes sadness like a dark pale greenish yellow.

Cold colors on the color wheel, I'd say.

Combination of low saturation blue, purple and grey. Wear and tear detail look is a bonus.
Play around with image of running tears (real running tears,as opposed to symbolic teardrop of BA), perhaps?
