This is just me, but the current wound allocation rules make no sence. The rules have you dispence wounds evenly at first, you roll the saves, but the then the models take the wounds. This is all well and good, till you get to multiple wound models. If you make me dispense wounds evenly for the saves, why do they suddenly stack on one model for the wounds? I think you should allocate wounds as you do in the begening, an even spread.

They only stack on one model for wounds if that model is part of a wounds group; your models are not the actual troops. They're representations of the strength and size of your forces, in an approximate area, over an undetermined amount of time. Likewise, your enemy is not shooting his lasgun once during the shooting phase; hundreds of shots are fired, and the 'wounds' result is a simplified explanation of how much damage it actually did.
