You forgot Repentia and Penitent Engines. Of course they are also two units that prove that you can add new things to the SoB with a different style and have it fit thematically and mechanically, so I don't think it will hurt your point .

What if instead of cutting Sororitas stuff to make room for Ecclesiarchal stuff, we instead cut some Marine stuff to make room for some Sororitas and Ecclesiarchal stuff? Seems nice to me.

To you, to me, and probably to a whole lot of other people, too. But that's the kind of thinking that would have gotten us plastic Sisters ten years ago. It's completely unrealistic.

C. Why are you doing other cults in the Sisters of Battle book? Shouldn't you be doing Sisters of Battle in a Sisters of Battle book? Were there a lot of Blood Angels players looking at their codex and going 'I like it...but it needs more Cadians.' when that book dropped?

I dunno, based on all the Blood Angels lists I've seen, that's exactly what they were thinking...

Just to say it, I at least don't have issue with more bizarre thematic stuff being added. I just don't care for SPACE MARINE THING WITH A LADY IN IT.

Give me something overwrought with religious symbolism and flamers, don't you dare make it practical looking. Our fast attack is flying space nuns, our close combat is psychotic flagellant space nuns and our heavy support is that lady who plays the organ from church. An up armored version of something we already have doesn't hit the same tones as those do.

Just to show that you can make "space marine thing with a lady in it" be more interesting that what it sounds if there is more to it. In the case of Seraphims, it's replacing the whole "close combat" aspect of basically all marines with jumppack with some akimbo style pistols.

Yeah, I was saying put more thought into something than just saying up armor them or put them into terminator armor.

That and making a flying nun joke.

My point is do something interesting and preferably different. Even seraphim aren't standard jump troops, most jump troops are dive into close combat, meanwhile seraphim are far better for harassment, horde shredding or suicide attacks on vehicles depending on how they're outfitted.

But apparently what you want isn't some new lore and models to be conceived in a collaborative way, you clearly believe that the Sisters of Battle lore is already written and done and nothing new should be added to it.
Beside, in the already written lore, there is already room for better, more advanced and protective armor for the Celestians, especially given how different Sororitas armor can look on various illustrations, starting all the way to 2nd ed codex!

You get 'em Oxa.

I've always been a proponent of Sisters looking better in heavier armour (you know, to match that fluff blurb about their armour being equal to Astartes armour in protection...).

While I guess I can kinda understand some people being so incredibly attached to the old design that they can't see themselves letting go under any circumstance, the resistance to getting options rather than replacements just borders on the suspicious.

I should think of a new signature... In the meantime, have a

I'm all for options that are Sisters units. But if the option is to play SM Centurions with a lady inside, why bother?

Also, when did having a flyer become obligatory?

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

6th ed rules upgraded flyers posing as skimmers to flyers with their own unique rules.

In there somewhere something about deaths, skies and supplements no one buys or plays, but who cares about that?

My question was when did each army suddenly have an obligatory flyer? What says Sisters have to be getting one?

Because people might buy them. Which is the only reason for anything at the end of the day.

What full ,complete plastic faction that is older than two years has no flyers?

Tau, Tyranids, Orks, Necrons, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Space Marines (All kinds), Imperial Guard. They all have flyers.

I support the idea of turning them into amorphous armor-blobs. If I can physically see any shape or aspect of the body that implies there's a female in that armor then the entire faction is being disrespected imo. These ladies are here to fight- not walk down a runway -and as long as 40K remains the grounded, hyper-realistic military simulator that it has been since the 80s, Sisters had damn well better look the part.

I'm not up to date with them but can't they get IG units as their own thus being able to use them already?

I just want to point out that being identified as female is the whole point of the way the armor is designed. Part of that who "the eccleseiarchy can have no men under arms" thing.

Also

40K has never been a grounded, hyper realistic military simu...you're being sarcastic aren't you...

You are correct. Xenos Index 2 page 112:

The influence of a Genestealer Cult permeates all aspects of a society, including any Astra Militarum regiments stationed on their world. To represent the elements of such forces that have been subverted by a cult, you can include Astra Militarum units and Genestealer Cults units in the same matched play army, even though these units don't have any Faction keywords in common.

The rest of the rule goes on to describe exactly how to do that. So yes, Genestealer Cults can and do have Flyer access if they want them.

I wouldn't call a faction without transports, complete. And for Genestealer Cults, the same, but at least they can use the Imperial Guard ones.

That was a deliberate nod to the fact that most blood angels players didn't want to have to run Cadians, but got pigeonholed in because they were so cheap and so useful, which is exactly the problem frateris militia and similar units might run into, and why I don't want them in the SoB book.

Battle sisters are comparable to guardsman at the moment in terms of effective screening units for a sisters of battle army, mostly because taking them isn't that much more expensive and because the prevalence of guardsman means most chaff clearing tools aren't really equipped to deal with with 3+ save units. A cheaper unit added to the sister's army that can forgo the AsMil HQ tax and can benefit from SoB strategems and Order rules (and ESPECIALLY if they get AoF) would likely crowd out the basic battle sister. Generally, I want to be able to play a Sisters of Battle army made up of Sisters of Battle without feeling like I'm gimping myself and I don't trust GW's balancing abilities enough to leave that up to chance.

If it happens it happens, I would just much rather the rest of the Ecclesiarchy get its own book.

Bravo, Sir, Bravo.

Sarcasm turned up to 11, and very well said, IMHO.

Personally, the more female they appear, the better, to distinguish them from the other ranges of miniatures. And I can't see it as disrespect to the faction, but respecting the background of the army.

"Its terrible the way that conversion kit is causing him to buy 2 GW kits... " - Mad4Minis

Well the background of the army is “warriors of a (now) puritanical church” so not really…
