Subject: How much $$ to save for a new army release?

I guess this is half question, half poll. How much money do you think I should save (or how much would you save) for a new army release? Assume you already have a decent number of points and models. Assume that some units that you already have are being updated with new models. In addition, several new units/models are coming out.
For me, the army in question is Tau. I already have a good amount of stuff. I'd like new Crisis Suit models, maybe the new Demiurg, maybe plastic Vespids if they're redone, plastic pathfinders, etc. Of course, we don't know entirely what the new release will bring...but that's part of the predicament.
What's a good amount to set aside for this?

I'd set aside anywhere between $100 and $300, depending on how much you think they'll change, what holes there are in the range before release, and what the rumors are pointing towards. I don't plan to keep more than $100 for any given Marine army release, since I already have most of the toys I need. For Tau, somewhere around $200 would be very safe. Figure there's going to be about 3-4 new model kits and a codex, and depending what you want there's $200 right there.

$300 is what I would shoot for personally.

I had $200 put aside for the Necron reboot. Considering I already had 2000 ish points, that was mostly for all the shiny new stuff. Another 'Cron player saved roughly the same amount, worked for us...

I'd say between $200 and $300.
I had about 1750 points on Necrons before the new 'dex. After going through it and play testing by proxing some models (do this first!) I found it's going to take just over $200 for the changes I need to make.

I'm just getting started on my base Tau now, getting ready for the new release, planning to spend $200-$300 as soon as details come out, I will probably be pre-ordering many units.

I would personally save $500 just in case. Unless you know exactly what you want, I would have extra for kits that just look cool.

Well, I'd say $300 if you know what you want to field. If you want more flexibility, you'll need more like $500.

This...
Prior to the release of the new Necron dex I had around 3800 points of crons (now devalued to what you see in my sig by the new pricing). For pretty much any given list that I'm thinking about running, I'm looking at an additional $200-300 investment. For everything I want, I'm looking at probably $700-800 total after 2nd wave models are released.
