I forgot how i painted my kroot, I kinda remember the first coat of paint i used and after that i totally forget.
Has this ever happened to anyone or am I kinda dumb?

It happens, especially if there's years between paintjobs. It's worse when you're mixing your own colors!

Gods, yes.

I forgot how to make the pink most of my Sisters have their armor painted with - a few have their robes painted pink instead. I was running low on my supply of pink - I mixed a nice amount in an empty tub - so I tried to make some more. It came out as more of a purple, so I tried adding more white, figuring I'd used three parts instead of two. It was lighter, but still purple like the Pretty Marines instead of pink like... um... Damn, I don't have a good example of pink.

I examined the problem, and tried using Warlock Purple instead of Liche Purple. That fixed it good. ^_^

As an end result, a few of my Sisters are more mauve than pink.

But yeah, I tend to forget the exact steps I took. Fortunately, most of my paint jobs are pretty simple, with the most advanced techniques being used being a single drybrush color, or a wash. Some don't even have that. Edit: But remembering what parts I painted what color is difficult, especially if it's been a while since I worked on that particular type of model.

How can you you paint unless you're drunk?

I use 3x5 cards for my overall army colors and where they go.

Really helps out when the memory goes after the army has been sitting in the case for 2 years.. lol.

Yeah, I started keeping a 'painting diary' so I could track what I was doing. Too much stuff sits for years between additions. And sometimes it's handy to be able to go back and check how you did something for some other completely unrelated project as well.

I'm not even fully sure what I'm doing while I'm painting, so remembering what I did once done is nigh impossible.

I keep a book with directions of type/brand of paint, ratio mixed, additives mixed for everything I paint, steps on how I did everything even if its a one off model.

Painting for other people you never know when you might need to come back to something you did years before or something you did by accident and really liked the effect.

Yes I do. Ive forgotten colors, how I mixed customs, even had some colors/effects happen by accident and forgot how to reproduce it.

I finally just remembered how i painted my kroot too, 2 layers of graveyard earth, wash of devlan mud, drybrush of catachen green or vermin brown and finally highlights.
