A 5 man DA squad with a melta gun and drop pod is 150 points. 6 of these is 900 points, not bad for filling out all your troop slots. DA don't have drop pod assault, so you don't have to drop half on turn one. What to fill out the rest of the army? Asmodei gives you an unlimited range ld 10 pyschic hood. Put him with a command squad with apothecary, 2 melta guns, and 2 power fists in a pod, maybe. Typhoons with multimeltas would work here, too. Fill out with veterans in pods with meltas and power fists, then? Do drop pods even work anymore, even without having to use drop pod assault?

The only thing wrong with drop pods with that list is that it seems you plan on doing an alpha strike......Without DP assault they will be coming in piecemeal and the effect will be lost

I understand the weakness of drop pod assault.

I think you mean Ezekial
Can I recommend outflanking bikes?
Deathwing assault is a choice you make on turn 1. Thus you can have them reserve everything else but if your opponent leaves an opening you can call them first turn to take advantage.
Typhoons seem not to get deepstrike. If you want units to walk on and shoot maybe razorbacks, dreads, termies could also be considered.

Drop pods with a single melta sounds a bit weak.
