As the name implies this is a thread for you to share those useless/ strange facts that you may come across every-now-and-then like this one; more people are killed annually by donkeys than airplanes. Also, if you ever find yourself chased by an alligator/crocodile if you run in a zig-zaged pattern you'll be to hard for them to chase.

Don't poke the sleeping squiggoth, he might get cranky.

Cyanide smells like almonds.

Hippos have killed the most people in africa.

Wait no those are somewhat useful.

In Star Trek III: The Search For Spock the villains of the film were originally intended to be Romulans, but upper studio management wanted Klingons to be used since they were better-known enemies. By the time the decision was made, the Romulan ship was already built and they did not want the expense of replacing it. However, since the TV show had already established that the Klingons and Romulans had shared technologies and ships in the past (for exactly the same real-world cost-cutting reasons), the idea of Klingon's using a Romulan-style vessel was not a problem.

And that is how Klingon's actually got cloaking devices.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

If chased by a certain species of bear (I think it was Grizzly), it is best to run downhill. Due to the hip structure and shorter forelimbs, they tend to be lower to the ground at the front and find running downhill to be somewhat troublesome.
Uphill or on flat ground they have no problems.

If chased by a bear and you want to ensure what species it is, climb a tree. If it follows you up, it's a black bear. If it pushes the tree over, it's a grizzly.

Jellyfish are more dangerous in Aussie tropical waters than sharks.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Useless facts are so interesting that there are entire internet sites dedicated to them.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...
