Hey All,

I just invested in a Furioso Dread, and im gonna build as a normal dread.

My question is If I equip it with Blood Talons, but also build up the Frag Cannon as I dont need extra parts would 1 blood talon and a Frag Cannon be legal?

And Are Blood talons the way to go or just fists?

Cheers

If you look at the wording for the Furioso Dread's entry it only lists replacing the fists with the frag cannon, not replacing the talons. However, the Blood Talons entry does describe how a single talon works (only re-roll to wound...no awesome continue killing spree) so I could see someone utilizing a single talon with the frag cannon and would not object. Both upgrades are free anyhow, so it wouldn't bother me if you wanted one of each.

Talons are typically the way to go since they provide an awesome infantry killing platform. Toss on some extra armour and go to town destroying a squad per turn.

Thats what I thought, I probably wont use the Frag Cannon that much any way, But as Its there I may aswell.

Talons were my first choice and I just didnt wanna ruffle any feathers.

You can't use one talon and a frag cannon as the army list entry specifically says replace BOTH fists with talons. if you only have one fist, you can't replace it. However, if you did it for the look and counted it as a fist, i'd certainly be cool with that.

By the wording of the entry, you can't take a single bloodtalon on a furioso dread. It's one bloodfist and other weapon (like frag cannon) or two talons.

DC dread can't take a single talon either.

I think the distinction with the one/two talons is due to the fact that weapons CAN be destroyed, so you would lose effects that way.

It states in the BA codex that you may replace a single Blood fist (and built in weapon) for the frag cannon, therefore eliminating the ability to have a single Blood talon.

Ok i may be slightly drunk but if your gonna use the furioso i suggest using him as a anti tank dread my main reasons

A) Dont need much to destroy a LR (duh) i've done it many many times and its fun (especially when your opponent loses faith and accuses you of cheating.)

B) If you field DC dreads with talons they, WILL. NO MATTER WHAT BE THE TARGET PRIORITY FOR ALL UNITS TO KILL (well most at least).
(mainly cause they face roll squads )

C) Furiouso = AV13 12 10 ya awesome.

D) can still fit a furiouso with talons which = even more face rolling AV 13 has saved me so many times that i just have to give it credit

So what did a squad of Fire Dragons say to the ork stompa?
MUhahahahah Apocaliptic Explosion!!!
