The militia... I suppose....is a bit easier to swallow..

That Gryphon at $100 is a joke. Particularly as it looks like it was a sculpt intended for the plastic line and doesn't look up to par with the other Rackham metals....

Looks like CMoN is already scrapping the bottom of the barrel with unreleased figs.

None of the Militia are that memorable and the Griffon is a pre-painted plastic cast in resin, for $100....

I'm amazed that 8 people already bought that turd

Considering the range of Confrontation, I have no idea why this would be the case.

Maybe they're working their way up from the bottom...

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Whoever now does Confrontation hasnt a clue, the hydra would be worth buying if it was worth buying.

I am a lot of Confrontation players use this:

The Mage Knight Skyguard Griffon above is available at a low price if you know where to look (Miniature Market until recently), its big and good quality pre-paint. The rider will need replacing from the waist up, its a poor quality soft plastic cast anyway, unlike the griffon.

The Island of Blood griffon is also a popular choice, and rightly so its superlative model.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

This would be hilarious if only it wasn't so painful.

Jean Bey, can we have you back now? PLEASE?

You've got to be kidding me... All the fugly of prepainted plastic, but without the prepaint. For 30 bucks more I can get the Forgeworld Keeper of Secrets...

Mind blowing and not in a good way.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Who is buying these?

I know they don't want to redo existing miniatures (even the massively in-demand Fiannas are still not sold out) but this is getting sad. I really want the sculpts for the prepainted Royal Guard to come out, but at these prices NO WAY (and those were just an arm and head swap for the normal Paladins)

I've been posted comments critical to Legacy's pricing on TTGN for months now. As a Cadwe Militia fanboy, I literally could not wait for the Militia Dwarf but their absurd pricing killed it for me.

$70 for human-sized 5 minis!? I don't care how Legacy or CMON excuse that MSRP, it's a rip-off.

From a marketing perspective, the bundling makes zero sense. If I just want the Militia Dwarf, why do I have to buy 4 other minis I'd never use? No other system does this. It really boggles the mind...

Well, CMON used to run Newwave, so should we really be surprised at their business strategies?

I just bought some old metal Rackham minis off ebay (not familiar with the game, but I bought them just for the looks, Wolfen Prowler and Shurat the Warlord), likely Chinese recasts, but I'm in no position to complain, assuming they're of reasonable quality. Straying back on topic, comparing the ones I've had the pleasure of purchasing to the ones CMON has put out so far, especially that most recent piece, I can honestly say I have no clue what the hell they're thinking with their current release schedule. Rackham's pre-pre-painted plastic era produced some of the finest sculpts ever conceived, truly beautiful stuff, and I really regret not having been involved in wargaming at the time just because of how good those sculpts were. Yet what CMON is putting out are things that aren't even worth looking at, both compared to what most miniature companies put out today, but also what Rackham has put out themselves.

Furthermore, the prices they are asking for are absolutely insane. Especially for this latest griffon, which is beyond terrible. It's hard to believe that it even came from the same company.

@Fafnir it really didn't. By the time C:AoR was out, Jean Bey - the owner and CEO - had switched sculptors for practically everything. And it was designed to be pre-painted, and so it lacks all the exquisite detail we love to see in our minis.

I'm aware of the massive change they went through. That's the point. It's hard to believe that they still called themselves Rackham.

To a point where the work previously done is barely even recognizable in comparison to what they did after.

What I would really like to know is who the hell thinks that they can take this pre-painted piece of crap, take away the "pre-paint" and sell it for these ridiculous prices?

Seriously, is there even a market for these minis when cheaper better alternatives are readily available? They are going to destroy whatever chances there were of a relaunch of the Rackham brand, I weep when I think of what a waisted opportunity this is!

If this is true I will never do business with CMoN. New Wave Games was an extremely shady business-- my order from them back in 2003 never arrived, with no explanation whatsoever. To be honest I have never seen any game company manage to muster as much bad faith as New Wave did prior to its shutting down. Even GW on its worst days gets better publicity than New Wave used to.

New Wave Games was an online store that was infamous for extremely poor customer service. In many cases orders would simply never show up.
