Seriously, did anyone else have to think of that meme as they read the title?
OnTopic: I'm not up to date on the current version of Necron fluff, though I've already heard that a lot of things have changed ... for the worse. Sad to see that the Pariahs are apparently gone. :/

Pariah are excluded now.
Like most of the backstory of the C'tan, great chunks of the war in heaven, etc etc.
The new dex pretty much ignores the past, touches only slightly on it like the SM dex portays the HH ( read: simplified version and not much space used in layout ). Newcrons are TK without ushabti or sphinx......shall have some flyers later to add the Sci to the fi.

Yeah from what I've heard pariahs got retconned. Best you can do is use the models as counts as royal court (or something similar, I haven't read the codex and don't plan to).
I say field them, and tell new players about the good ole days when fluff was worth reading.

If their existance isn't mentioned at all in the codex its not saying that they don't exist (implying it perhaps). One could just assume that they're true precious to have chucking about the front line battlefields-one in a million humans have the pariah gene, probably barely any of those are captured by the necrons, so its a bit of a waste to have a half dozen or more of them going about chopping up space marines every saturday. =P

Well thats the best thing about the new necron dex. Its no longer static. Now that the lords and cryptecs have personalities and drives it is more than possible that there could be new innovations in their war productions. Heck one of the characters is famous for creating new and awesome weapons and bodes for the nobility.
It would be awesome if GW would maybe stop thinking about marines for a couple of minutes and give the xenos some love in WD or something. Pariahs can easily be re-introduced if they wanted to

This was pretty much covered in the older thread on this topic, the ideas were:
1. a complete redo of history, they never existed.
2. they do exist and still exist, the two books represent different groups of necrons, the first was about those Necrons still owned by the C'tan (or the fragments of them), this one is about the Necrons that rebeled and have just started waking up.
Until GW say otherwise both options are just as plausable

I thought all major C'tan were sharded -and at the time there were only the major C'tan.- Since shards don't have the same mental capacity as the full things -no where near it actually- that would make it impossible for them to lead Necrons. So doesn't that pretty much make the 2nd option impossible?

Not all the C'tan got sharded, most, but not all.
The Void Dragon is most likely still in one piece. He barely escapes the vengence of the necrons and finds a nice little backwater planet to hide on, only to be set upon by a living god. After getting pwned, the Dragon and the Emperor reach an agreement, the Void Dragon will give mankind technology and the Emperor/mankind will keep him safe from the Necrons trying to enslave him. The fleet of necron cruisers that tried to land on Mars was either an assassination attempt or the necrons following a hint that the Void Dragon was there.

I never really got how Pariahs fitted into the necron back story anyway TBH. Necron were portrayed as implacable robots stalkign the univser killing all life....but they took the time to cross-breed humans with necrons? eh?
Th way i read it they have glossed over the Pariahs completely and "advanced" the necron story. if you read it through, a lot of the previoud dex stuff was written as if it were a report from the imperium...where as the new one reads as if the first dex did exist but did not have all the informations (with the exceptions of pariahs and C'tan who have been completely ret-conned).
Anyway, back on topic. A lot of people are using the pariah models as warscythe LychGuard. i will be doing some clilpping and re-posing ans turning my 4 into Crypteks.

Pariahs are no longer a unit option, it is true. They are not specifically mentioned in the new codex. That doesn't mean they are gone, or retconned, just that they are sufficiently rare as to not get their own unit. The newcron fluff is expansive enough to easily encompass them, they can, and likely do still exist, but most likely as an expiriment of a few crypteks or a C'tan shard.
No, most of the old fluff was not changed, the new codex specifically left 90% of it alone and just chose to emphasize different things. Nothing about the war in heaven was really changed except the ending and the nature of the C'tan. Turns out the whole "gentle star vampire" thing was likely a ruse on the part of the Deceiver, in actuality the C'tan were already quite malignant shades with some grudge against the Old Ones, looking for a way to strike back at them. Many of the fluff about the C'tan is now likely the work of shards, which is fine by me because GW was crap at portraying all powerful star gods as anything but mustache twirling fops anyways. At least now we have an excuse for why they were so pathetic in most of the fluff. There are also likely still fully functional C'tan out there, and Necrons serving them.
The vast majority of the events in the old fluff is specifically allowed for in the new fluff.
And as for "the new fluff has changed...for the worse!!!", well the polls clearly show that most players like the new fluff. It is different from the old, and I can understand people preferring the old. But that is a preference, it isn't worse. A lot of it is quite well, and cleverly done, and while I personally miss some of the "ancient, silent, unstoppable" horror that has been lost, I love the new personal horror of the newcrons. More than just about any other race (maybe tied with the Eldar) they are well and truly damned.
