Okay, so my GF of 4 months just told me she liked me A LOT, however I really don't reciprocate those feeling for her, shes cool and fun, but I don't love her.....how can I break this to her without completely fething her up emotionally?

Well... did she say she liked you a lot or she loves you? Major differences between the two...

I think your best bet would be not to say anything in response... although i gotta ask, why would you be in a relationship with someone you have no emotional interest in?

Uhh maybe hold it off for a week. maybe you should of done this a week ago not to kill her sense of the new year.

I know, thats why I am asking for advice, otherwise I would just flat out tell her, though I will take your advice+some and try to wait a week, preserves her sense of new year as well as giving me time to think and brew.

There's no need to admit anything to her. She's not your wife she's your girlfriend of 120 days. That's not a long time when you think about how long people are married. Even if you do feel so content on telling her that you don't like her then do it. She'll cry and bitch a lot but its not the end of her world. Course it will seem that way at the time but she'll move on in a couple weeks or so. Just relax and enjoy your new year. Don't stress about it just do it and feel the weight lifted off of you. And do her a favor like Chaos0xomega said, do this a little bit after the new year.

But if the above has no effect on you then allow me to retort..

Hmm...you raise a fair point, biggest thing is I don't want to drag her along emotionally, if per se I don't feel any ludicrously strong emotions in 8 month than I would feel like a (for lack of a better word) bastard, Though on the last part you bring up a good point.

It's not really dragging her along, it's you taking time before making up your mind on something both you and your girlfriend find important.

Yeah, I wouldn't say anything to her and give it some more time. Love isn't something that just kinda happens overnight, and telling her you dont like her that much will not only break her heart but most likely end the relationship prematurely, not even giving you the chance to develop those feelings.

Just be up front with her about everything. If she can't handle the truth then she's weak and you might need to just let her go. There's a time and a place to wear a mask, but a relationship isn't one.

Well, you must like her alot if she's your girlfriend. If you don't, then you are stringing her along, and you should stop calling her your girlfriend, or making her think that she is.

I have to agree with this. It might also help to have some idea what age bracket we are dealing with here. I'm guessing young from the "she is my girlfriend and I like her but I don't LIKE her but she LIKEs me", but you never know.

You want to break up with her because she likes you a lot? You're her boyfriend, isn't good that she likes you? Don't you want her to like you a lot? Or just a little bit. Why is she a 'girlfriend' then and not a 'mate'?

Says he was single for a couple of years before this chick. Now he doesn't like her as much as she likes him BUT she is a steady/sure thing. He likes the sure thing, doesn't like her being the sure thing, but is a decent enough guy that he feels a little bad about using her as a sure thing.

Listen to your conscience. If you feel bad stringing her along, tell her that. Let her know you enjoy her company but don't see this turning super serious. She'll decide what to do from there...

So you're basically using her for sex and don't want an emotional commitment?

Tell her that. I'm sure everything will work itself out and you won't have to do anything yourself.

Alternatively, you could say nothing and see what develops. I dated a girl for 4 years, broke up with her, and then started up again, who told me she loved me 2 months in. I didn't love her at the time, but eventually I fell in love with her.

People are strange beasts, and we don't always do things at the same pace. I don't attach to people easily, she does, complexity happens and honesty is not always the best policy.
