Is that finished? No offence but it looks like it could do with something else like some highlighting or something.

Dude, that's like 4 colors. I would go back and do freehand and highlights on that model.

I wouldn't call it complete, but it's most definately a good start.

Try highlighting the model and adding a bit of weathering, this will help give it a sense of realism and make it look much better. Also, a light wash of Badab Black in any of the Boltgun Metal areas will help add shadow and depth.

Can't wait to see more of you're stuff though!

Keep it up!

Thanks guys, the painting is complete as it is now but after I get some more practice (I have only ever painted a Russ a sentinel and 10 guardsman) it will be receiving some weathering around the tracks and bottom edges if the hull and MAYBE some battle damage. The photos really make it look a lot flatter than it really is, I think because of the bright flash.

Iranna- I have actually washed the whole model with badab black and in person it looks dark and dirty and has watermarking likes it's been out in the rain. The boltgun metal areas don't really shine at all. I think maybe the flash cuts through the wash but makes everything else look really colorful? (any tips on photos would be good lol)

I will definitely have to try an get a photo in natural light. Thanks for being honest it really helps.

The best idea would be to, as you said, use as much natural light as possible. Other than that, you could invest in a photobox for picture taking?

For tanks, try to use slightly larger brushes on the sides when washing, it helps stop the wash from "pooling" as it were.

Alternatively, you could try oils? I've heard good things about them, never used them myself however so you'd have to do some investigating.

Looks like a good start. You should paint the tracks and use a devlan mud wash on it. Good work

Thanks for the tips above. I know what you mean about the pooling,in some areas I tried to get the wash to follow the path rain would then pool it a little in the lower ares of the vehicle to look like dirty water stains. Never tried oils but might be worth having a look at...always good learning something new.
Thanks for your time mate.

I like it a lot, but I still think that you could put some freehand emblems on it. Even just an orange warning triangle with a black trim would suffice. A more complicated dragon emblem around the barrel would be cool, too.

Glad you like it mate, thanks for the feed back. The only think it will be receiving now is some unit insignia and a squadron number (when i invent those things) but the insignia will presumably be freehand
