would overlords and inquisitors ever exchange the equivilent of letters to one another in an interlectual manner? i know that the codex mentions that trazyn writes to the inquisitor thank them for the 'donation' but would other overlords do this?

In 40k, there is almost always the exception.
Even though it might be totally unheard of, there might be those Overlords communicating with mankind (Trazyn is the evidence that there are exceptions to the rule).
As for the Inquisitiors, surely in the universe there will some time be a radical inquisitor trying to benefit by using the Necron race.
The galaxy is a big place. There will always be the exception.
