So after months of deliberating on a proper and unique looking Straken stand-in for my Cadians, I finally decided on using Inquisitor Coteaz as my company commander. I wanted to paint him up in a similar fashion to my Cadians' urban camo scheme so I decided to use this glossy Deep Sea Blue on his armor to make it look like it was made out of some sort of Obsidian or Onyx. And since I was using a gloss paint on his armor I figured I would forgo any highlighting since natural light would reflect off him just fine as the pictures show pretty well. Hope you all like him!

Nice! Good choice on not highlighting him because if you did it would probably look a bit awkward from different angles

I don't like the idea. not to be TFG either. But Straken doesn't have power armor, or a Thunder/Force hammer.

Straken has 3+ armor and a strength 6 power weapon. That seems reasonable to me, and I am usually the one being the stickler about confusing counts-as.

No offense taken. I simply saw straken's stat line and looked for a model that seemed reasonable and an Inquisitor wearing power armor was the closest I really got. Out of all of those Coteaz really stuck out a lot, which is why I like him. But now I can also run a Henchmen Grey Knight list if I wanted to, maybe get a couple of paladin squads as support

Better yet, just give him a SM power weapon - It'll look like bionics!

edit: I think you could change the colour of his loincloth, it's really grabbing focus and cheapens the white on his insignias.

I like it. I'm also running my old Inq Lord as Straken. Power armor, the enhanced statline and the double strength power weapon work perfectly.

Thanks! Yeah, the ForgeWorld stuff is cool, but I don't feel like waiting a month or more for a few models. This was also the cheaper alternative. Yeah, I could alter the loincloth color, maybe a bleached bone color or other light tan/brown.
