But does that mean he can't join standards squads during the game? I.e. joins 9 mareehnes, and they embark in a rhino..happy days.


Also, on top of that, can he start the game joined with a squad and possibly in a rhino/drop pod?

Yes, he is an IC. Fluffwise he is "always alone" - as in, stands alone in combat, like all ICs

Most of the misleading info is a throw back to 4th ed rules as well... like target priority.

Basically he can't take a retinue command squad is his only limit.
