So the fluff for the scenario is a rogue trader and his mercenary tau allies taking vengeance on an eldar pirate prince over an unpaid debt. The eldar pirate prince convinces a pirate ork warband that there will be plenty of teef and gubbinz in it for them if they team up and take down the rogue trader.

Each force had a leader model that if killed would count as an additional objective. A D6 would be rolled, on a 1-3 the model would be removed from the table and the opposite side would count as holding an additional objective. On a 4-6 the model remained on the table as an additional objective. If any leader fled they would count as being killed by the opposite side.

Like with apocalypse there was no force org. We didn’t use any assets. Each player had a 2000pt list. The lists were pretty standard with 3 exceptions, the eldar flimmer used the rules for the dark eldar void raven bomber. The tau used a count as xv-9 and the guard used a rogue trader cyber mastif and servitors to count as a company command squad with bodyguard.

The game was played on an 8x4 table with 6 objectives. We used 25% terrain with a heavy focus on LOS blockers. Most of the terrain was impassable and we don't play with melting through walls. Landing on any elevated terrain required a dangerous terrain test. We also used sandbags and played them as destructible terrain. Essentially any vehicle could remove them by driving over them and passing a dangerous terrain test. Walkers could hop over or elect to try and remove them by passing a dangerous terrain test. We decided that models could hop down large heights but had to take a dangerous terrain test. We don't play with craters because they're lame and never fit, we did add a house rule for wrecks. Units are able to shoot at or assault wrecked vehicles. They retain their normal armor facings but any glance or pen removes them from the table, pens will always result in an explosion.

Pictures were taken at the end of each turn.

Enjoy the pics

Spoiler:

The merc’s bid 20 minutes and the priate’s bid 4.5 minutes for deployment. The priate’s selected their deployment.

Pirates Turn 1: The orks advanced around the church, a truck with meganobz in it moved in advance to shield one of the battlewagons from the broadside that had a shot on it. The other battlewagon with ghazkull and boys went to the right of the church. 2 of the d-cannons sacrificed shooting to move into some cover behind the church. The 3rd d cannon also sacrificed shooting to move into a better position behind the refinery. A falcon also moved up behind one of the refineries’ silos. The voidraven bomber moved over the courtyard with the marine statue to get a better line of sight to the merc lines. The 2nd falcon moved next to the first just enough to get a line of sight on the merc line while remaining hull down. Pask’s vanquisher fired on the battlewagon full of nobz and wrecked it. The broadside on the far left flank fired on the truck full of meganobz and it exploded. The other broadside to the left flank fired on ghazkull’s battlewagon, missing it.

Spoiler:

Pirates Turn 2: Reserves arrive on the flanks. 2 war walkers arrive on the left flank, on the right flank a single war walker and a wave serpent with striking scorpions. Ghazkull’s battlewagon moved up and he alone disembarked and declared a whaaaagh, he assaulted the broadside killing it and then consolidated into the trees. The meganobz assaulted the broadside in front of the chimera and killed it. The war walkers fired on the chimera and wrecked it. The second war walker fired its plasma missiles at the veterans, killing several and pinning the squad. The nobz assaulted the hydra and wrecked it. The first falcon flew over the refinery to get into a good firing position and then opened up on the rogue trader’s chimera shaking it, the second one landed on top of the silo and fired on the manticore but missed. Spoiler:

Pirate’s Turn 3: Reserves arrive, two units of jetbikes arrive from the pirate’s board edge. A large unit of boyz with a wawrboss also arrive from the edge. Two killa kans arrived on the right flank and fired their grotzookas at the kroot in the trees, killing several. The shoota boyz inside the battlewagon and the d-cannons opened fire on the storm troopers killing all of them. The meganobz use their combi skorchas and annihilate the firewarriors. The falcon atop the silo moved down and firedragons disembarked. The firedragons opened fire on pask’s vanquisher and it explopded killing one firedragon. Asurman and his dire avengers opened bladestormed the vets squad and wiped them out. The striking scorpions disembarked their wave serpent and assaulted the nearest chimera, wrecking it and forcing the crew to emergency disembark. The nobz in the center managed to regroup. Grot rigger on ghazkull’s battlewagon manage to fix the immobilization.

The nobz assaulted the xv9 but failed to damage it, it then elected to utilize hit and run and passed its initiative test ending up about 11 inches away near the refinery. The void raven turbo boosted to contest the objective in the far left flank. A d-cannon fired on the tau suit near the priate’s edge and killed it. The jetbikes used their assault move to retake the objective. The killa kan moved in towards the kroot in the trees.

Spoiler:

Merc’s Turn 6: The vendetta fired on ghazkull but he made his cover saves. The tau suit hoped down off the rooftop, passing its dangerous terrain test and fired on ghazkull killing him. The forward sentries all passed their dangerous terrain tests and repelled down the silo. They opened fire on the nobz but failed to harm them, they at least managed to contest the objective. The manticore moved in to contest the objective being held by the shoota boyz in the battlewagon. The broadside fired on the falcon contesting the objective near the administratum building but only managed to destroy its weaponry. The firewarriors fired at the scorpions killing one. The broadside to the right of the administratum building fired on the voidraven bomber and shook it. The xv9 fired on the jetbikes killing one, it then used its assault move to get close enough to contest the objective. The chimera near the refinery fired on the killa kan but failed to hit.

Excellent looking models, excellent looking games, and excellent photos both in quality and volume!

Maybe though it'd might help if they were organized in spoilers for each turn. But I suppose that would be a lot to wrap

Great report and excellent armies and terrain. Did you convert those Falcons? The Eldar stuff is superb.

Look forward to seeing the detailed narrative (I know it takes ages, but it's worth it)

I've added a breakdown of all 12 turns. Took the better part of the afternoon to piece it all back together again. I'm sure I've forgot some stuff but it's a pretty good idea of what happened.

This was a crazy game! I had a great time. All the hard work pays off at the end of the day, all the hours spent on the models, terrain, table.

@ gordy2000, Crabz is pretty much correct. On the falcons i used plasticard of various thicknesses and milliput, the reason i use milliput is because when you introduce water to it, its very easy to make it super smooth.

Everyone Watch out for battle reports to come, pics, videos ect... We're going to try and make it more of a regular thing!

And that's why for our latest Battle report I actually got dressed. Lol

Thx for ruining my comfortability while I crush dreams. Jk.

Also thanks for commenting guys. We really go through the whole process to Show people how much fun 40k can be. Especially when you make sure of certain things such as: painted everything, good terrain choice such as (aprox 25% with about half of that LoS), definately a good 5min pregame discussion about how the board will be played, so there's no bs confusion later.

More bat reps to come, hopefully video from now on.
