Hey guys,

It happened to watch one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie last night, and I thought the following.

Don't you reckon that GW got insipred a lot from Davy Jones in crafting Lokhir's figure/character?

Cheers,

A

I doubt it. That is like saying that the Wood Elf release in 2005 was completely Legolas inspiried. It is not, they done something they thought was cool and fit the character of the army.

Hang on mates, didn't Lokhir Fellheart came out in 2008? And if I recall it right the first movie in which Davy Jones appeared was in 2006...so again who inspired who?

I've always seen Lokhir as a reference to Cthulhu

That is for sure, and I have to say that Lokhir is quite a cool character indeed.

Now, there are many more things that were actually drawn from warhammer in different setting.
Let's take Illidan for example from Warcraft. I believe that Illidan is exactly mid-way between a Malus Darkblade (the demon within) and Eltharion (the blind/dark personalities). In summary, you fuse Malus with Eltharion and you make Illidan. In much the same way as Lokhir is taken from Davy Jones.

But then again could it be that Lokhir was taken from Futurama?

Note the differences.
