In the lord of the storm rule, it says in part "the night fighting rules cease to be in effect and are not used for the rest of the battle"
From what it says RAW, the necron players solar pulses wouldn't do anything for the rest of the game as Imotekhs rule prevents night fighting rules from being used for the rest of the battle. I know in the next paragraph it refers to solar pulse specifically and seems to imply that they can be used. But it seems like an argument could be made that they don't do anything since Imotekh's rule prevents the night fighting rules from being used for the rest of the game.

What does Dakka think?

"the night fighting rules" contextually are referring to the rules that were in place because of the Lord of the Storm. Not all night fighting fo-eva.

As above. Context is your friend

At the beginning of the rule, it just says "the night fighting rules" not "Imotekhs super secret squirrel night fighting rules". Contextually referring to the night fighting rules from the brb. I don't want to post the whole thing as that's against the rules, but if you read it from start to finish it seems to say that night fighting rules cannot be used after the necron player fails his roll to continue.
I'm mostly playing devils advocate here, but that is how it reads to me.

What, the night fighting rules brought about by his power you mean? Those contextually blindingly obvious nightfighting rules you mean?

Imotekh's Lord of the Storm turns on night fighting. When you fail the roll, it turns off night fighting for the rest of the game.
Can you roll again next turn to turn it back on? No, it's off for the rest of the game.
Can you solar pulse to turn it back on? Sure - follow the rules for solar pulse, since LotS only turns it off for the rest of the game for LotS - there's nothing that says no other ability can turn on night fighting.
