Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am really (really) new to 40k (just learning the basics etc.) I have been painting models for a while and enjoyed it however I have not played the table top until recently.

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to use orbital bombardment with a space marine chapter master and or Marneus Calgar. I have the space marine codex however I was greatly confused in attempting to figure it out.

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum to post in.

Exactly what the above poster said. From a tactics stand point I use it on my first move and target the other players most closely grouped scoring unit. Then I'm free to use my chapter master freely thoughout the game after that, and hopefully they start the game minus a scoring unit. Plus at that distance you have zero chance of scattering on top of your own unit. Normally towards the end of the game opposing units are to close together for me to risk ordance or they are locked in assualt which prohibits its use.

An Orbital Bombardment in the Vanilla Codex is fired as if it were a shooting attack from the Chapter Master (aka, he must not move for that turn.)
It's also Ordinance Barrage, which means the following:
- He can fire at a target within line of sight, and roll the large blast using 2d6 + the scatter dice, subtracting his ballistic skill from the 2d6

Sorry, but your wrong there I think. In his entry, it says it always scatters 2d6, no matter how He/she fires it.
