So I've been working on this for a while, slowly getting models accumulated and I can't quite get this list to work. I'm not looking for a hard competitive list, just something to win with against other casual lists, sling some dice and have fun. There's just something... missing. Take a look.

-Venerable Dreadnought (270 points)

Heavy Flamer
-Land Speeder (70 points)

Anyone have thoughts or suggestions?

You'll find Telion is awesome.
Also you are open to most antidrop pod tactics. You'll be better with more pods which you can then choice an order to drop. Also it is good to be able to drop all your first turn pods empty and still perform.
I guess you imagine drop podding and combat squadding. So I think you will be better as both squads having 8 combimeltas and 2 heavy flamers. You can then choose how to split them but you can try to down 4 tanks, but also take out a nice bit of infantry. You may find a fist keeps them alive if they get assaulting the next turn.
Do you want such an expensive dread in melta range? It might not be such a loss to lose the ven. status.
It might be preds or typhoons may be better for you than the devs. The dev squad will be alone and can not afford to hide on the first turn but can not afford not to.

imo I don't think ven dreads are worth it for vanilla marines. An ironclad in a pod is better in most situations, as it can put the hurt on both infantry and tanks for about 30-40pts cheaper than a venereable, and I think that the av13 is better than the reroll anyway.
Also not a fan of the MM/HF land speeders, I think with the saving from the dread you should make those speeders typhoons - they do the same things you want them to do now, except at a safer range.
I think the devs are fine as long as your scouts are deployed on the board to take the heat off them a little bit, but i would swap the lascannon for another ML

First question, what happened to Sargent Old Man?
Ok onto other ideas...
<puts on his best Christopher Walken voice>Guess what, I got a fever and the prescription is MOAR AUTOCANNON.
I don't like speeders if I recall they pop too easy, the dreads should be able to pop armor. And I felt the devastators were out of place. If you scrub those 3 units it leaves you 310 points if I don't fail at math. Predators should be able to get for less than 155 points if I recall and that would give you your dual threat you use in your CSM list... if you stack the predators to one side as well you may avoid what happened with the other grey knight player where he kinda just randomly deployed. Which would make the stern guards have an easier time assaulting on a followup rather than having to foot slog after something and get shot up.
My thoughts for what its worth.

I considered the Typhoon Speeders, and honestly I found that the list needed more melta. I'm working on converting more combi meltas and heavy flamers, but even though those are awesome I needed something with a little more punch and the capability to shoot more than once. Hence, the MM/HF Speeders.
The Ironclad dread over the Venerable is definitely a consideration though... Hadn't thought of that. Then I could use the extra points to run Telion, who is an extreme bada**.
As of now, keep in mind that I'm working with the models I have. I can generally spend about $30-$40 a paycheck (every 2 weeks) on 40k, more if I get some extra hours at work. So this is definitely a work in progress.
As for the Devs, the lascannon adds some extra punch, especially because of the signum. :-)

Oh hey this list looks familiar The changes you made will help out the list overall I feel. Those heavy bolter devastators didn't have a big role, as with that many sternguard you have anti infantry covered pretty well. The speeders will be a lot more useful. I get why you have them separate, but they might be good as a squadron. They're going after similar targets anyways, get extra armor for free (kind of) and take a kill point out of your list. Just a minor idea to consider. Maybe try a multi-melta instead of the plasma on the dready? He's podding in and hits on 2's...pretty much a perfect place for melta. Plasma cannons seem far better for a walking dread with their decent range and template.
We'll have to play again with these changes.

Drop the landspeeders and a squad of scouts.
Add 2 Thuderfire Cannons with drop pods.
Send the drop pods empty to get your other 3 out turn 1.

Dev squads don't seem to perform very well unless they have some sort of transport and even then.
At this level, the vehicles come into play quite a lot so instead of force dome on your Librarian, take machine curse maybe.

Homicidal Veteran Blood Angel Assault Marine

Ok, so I've done a lot of work converting more combi meltas, and to get to my ideal list, I need 5 more marines. Probably snag them this week. Here's the list I'm currently working on building.
HQ
-Pedro Kantor (175 points)
-Librarian (100 points)
Null Zone
Force Dome
Elites
-10x Sternguard (365 points)
6x Combi Melta
1x Combi Plasma
Power Fist
Drop Pod with Deathwind Missile Launcher
-10x Sternguard (335 Points)
Melta Bombs
6x Combi Melta
Drop Pod with Teleport Homer
-5x Sternguard (215 points)
2x Heavy Flamer
3x Combi Flamer
Drop Pod with Deathwind Missile Launcher
Troops
-5x Scouts (150 points)
Sniper Rifles
Camo Cloaks
Missile Launcher
Telion
-5x Scouts (100 points)
Sniper Rifles
Camo Cloaks
Missile Launcher
Fast Attack
-Land Speeder (70 points)
Multi Melta
Heavy Flamer
-Land Speeder (70 points)
Multi Melta
Heavy Flamer
Heavy Support
-5x Devastators (170 points)
3x Missile Launchers
1x Lascannon
1,750 on the nose, and puts 12 melta guns on the table turn 1, firing at up to 4 different targets if I combat squad. Thoughts?
