Can the FW bio-titan be used in apocalypse tournaments like is it GW official or is it FW specific with an IA book?

Apoc Tourneys?

Hmm I never read up on them but I'd assume there are more restrictions on them than just "bring everything you got" but it all depends. Has the TO specified anything?

The Biotitan is listed in the main Apocalypse rulebook (its an updated one of the Imp armor volume 4) so I cant see why it wouldnt be allowed in an apoc tourney.

Would you usually go along with the rules listed in the main book or the updated ones in the IA book? Sorry about all the questions my brothers a nids player and wants to know before he invests in the product (he's never played apoc before)

Use the rules from the main Apocalypse book. You cant go wrong then.

Except that those rules haven't been updated to match the new edition and codex, leaving the rules a mess of things that no longer work or potentially work far too well now.

Apocalypse is a mess of rules. You basically just have to make judgment calls as you go. It falls apart if you interpret it as RAW.

The Heirophant has two main sticking points with its rules - Warp Field and Lashwhips.

The beast was costed for the old 2+/6++ warp field and the lashwhips that reduce attacks by 1 to a minimum of 1, but it refers to the Tyranid codex for these.

The 5th edition codex changes warp field for be a 3++ save, which is far more powerful, and lash whips to reduce all enemies in base oto base contact to I1, which is again, more powerful.

So expect to use it with the old rules, or eat a pretty big point increase if you want the new rules.

I dont think there is such thing as an apocalypse tournament... in any case, it would be up to your local apocalypse tournament organizer, this isn't a question we can definitively answer for you.

Granted but I assume the store manager/TO is aware of this and will

You basically just have to make judgment calls as you go.

Bottom line: the Biotitan can be used in Apoc games. OP mentioned a tournamanet but I assume that just a series of apoc games.
